Has God ever helped you by saying no to something you were supposed to receive?

I got upset last month because I paid for a latte and they gave me a coffee, but then I realized I was still sick from the stomach virus and drinking milk in a latte would have made me feel sick, so God actually blessed me by having the cashier cheat me out of the product I ordered.

And yesterday I saw an incredible deal and wanted to buy it today but I realized the promotion was only available cyber Monday so it’s not an option today. Then I realized I overspent my credit card and would have debt if I had taken advantage of the sale that ended cause it was still expensive, despite being 60% cheaper than normal.

I also remember when I lost out on a guy I thought was ideal, because of dishonest micromanaging by people I knew, and now I know I can find a better option than him. Also, by being single, I discovered a religious joy that exceeds the happiness any man could ever give me, and it’s a joy that lasts forever, while lovers get old and weak and die of old age.

While God has definitely helped me many times, I can't really remember Him doing it by depraving me of anything. I guess I wasn't asking for much and if I did ask for something, it was usually in line with what God wants us to wish for. The only thing I have not received yet was romantic love, but I'm not really sure if that's a bad thing these days, and human free will shall be respected all the time, so whatever the case, this is one thing I can't get just by asking. Though I suppose me having a stable poor health condition saved me from the risk of the first few waves of draft in case of a global conflict, and that would probably fit into the category described in Your question.

Yes He has, still doing it everyday. He knows you better than you know yourself. Also His' will and plans for us is Greater than what we have for ourselves. I have had stuff happen to me that in our human thinking it will seem bad or negative but God you used it as a gateway to bless me or He used it to show me something that was really helpful and a blessing to my life. Keep the faith, keep smiling, and in all things always acknowledge Him.
