There are so many beliefs, let me read your honest opinion. in my opinion, or rather, what I have the faith for when it happens, is that you go through a process (your soul) and you eventually reach a higher realm that is not on earth. I don't believe that when you die, that's it; you cease to exist. Why? My theory is that we have energy--we ARE energy--and energy does not die, it just changes. A law of physics says energy never dies, it just changes form. If you don't believe we are energy or have it in us, take a look at your fingers under some soft lighting with a background of black or white. You will see a glow around your fingers, which moves a your hands move. This is your aura or magnetic field. So, that's what I base my beliefs on, and to wherever world or realm or world we go into next, is to be seen.
+1 yI believe in god and Jesus Christ, my faith is that after our physical death, our souls will return to it's creator, in reality only our bodies dies but we live forever, it depends on our actions here on earth if we go to heaven or somewhere else...
I surely believe that death ain't the end...
God loves us and taught us how to become the best, the problem is in us, we need to learn how to really deserve the love of god for us and does his teachings...21 Reply- +1 y

However there is no reason to believe that the magnetic field generated by the human body is a person’s “aura”. That is an emotionally inspired sentiment driven by romanticism. An “aura” is an imagined concept with no actual scientific basis. It is actually not possible to see such a weak magnetic field with the naked eye. The magnetic field generated by human bodies is so weak that one needs a magnetoencephalography device to detect it at all let alone see it.
The energy stored of atoms which make up a person is indeed not lost when that person dies. However, that is not “that person’s energy”. It is energy which existed for billions of years before that person existed and will exist for billions of years after. What I believe happens to a person when they die is that which made the person that person does indeed simply cease to exist. The brain stops functioning, the heart no longer beats and the whole body decomposes or is destroyed by means of cremation or something. The energy is released and goes back into the cycle of everything outside that human body. No brain activity continues, no bodily functions persist. The person is dead to the universe, only to be remembered by those still living whom knew the deceased.

I had a conversation about this a few weeks back with another person. Because you die and you spirit goes to heaven. But on judgement day the dead in christ will rise and you spirit will be reunited with your body and you'll face judgement.
I only bring this up because that suggests you could go to heaven only to get sent to hell. I was told when you die your spirit goes to heaven but it's like it's asleep you don't know it has went to heaven. But let's think about the next part. You're reunited with your body to be judged. So if you died a LONG time ago do you get a new loner. Because some people are going to reunited with a pile of dust.

I agree with some thongs you wrote. I think that you go to purgatory first--and then to Heaven. There's a book, Dante's Inferno, that talks about the 11 levels of Heaven, that you go to before you go to the top. However, that is fiction, even though many believe there are many levels to Heaven. I do believe Christ will judge us for our time on earth, and that when we do go back, it really is "home" for us--we came from God, spent time here on earth, and will go back when it's time for us.

Daughter: Wow mom, it's been 47 years
Mom: are you crazy I saw you yesterday

No! No verse in the bible says that only this...
Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
+1 yI agree somewhat with your view. This Earth existence is a second form of our eternal goal in life. I also agree that we are energy we also have knowledge. we came to this earth to receive a body. When our body dies it is placed in the ground and our spirit or the energy is absent from each other. And tell God calls us to be resurrected which will give us a reunited with our spirit and body. While we are waiting for the resurrection we go into another state of learning. After the resurrection we do go into a higher state of knowledge and learning.
20 Replywhen we die if we are not we wait in the kabir until the world ends then all of us face our sins and after we suffer or pay for them (maybe in the kabir or Allah gives our sevaps to the ones we did wrong to compensate for our sins) we go to heaven once our suffering ends and we are believers, if not the hell is eternal.

@strateguy632 ? i don't know what you are asking here.
1K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. I had a near death experience and I just felt that there is something that exists that we cannot perceive with our limited sensory apparatus. I do not know if there is an afterlife but there is more to life than what we can see.

+1 yI believe in the same thing. I don't believe we just cease to exist. Our essence inside of us has to move on and go some place else and that I believe is another realm. It could be heaven or could be hell. Who knows?

you can know from books same as you know history from books... just get a book from a spiritual person to know about spirit.

I have read spiritual books. Well the Bible. I've read the Bible and believe in it.

bible is best spiritual source from spiritual teachers.
+1 yI just believe we are here to create children, and to carry on the human race, nothing more.
I can't remember or care what it was like to be here 1000000 years ago, and I won't care 100 millions in future. I will be gone from this planet.
I believe death, is just like not like been born. Your not here, when you were not born, so you are not going to be here, when you are dead.

but if that was the purpose you would not have more abilities than plants that do that.

@strateguy632 No I don't believe that. Look I would like to believe there is something after we die, but there is no evidence of it, and no one has proven to otherwise. Everyone talks about GOD is real, but thats no more real evidence, than telling me superman is real?
Sorry but religion doesn't mean, their evidence more superior than science. God is just a conspiracy theory for me.
+1 yOur soul leaves the body and reaches the Barzakh (limbo). Souls stay there till the day of Judgement. Based on the belief and the deeds, God decides whether you'll be a resident of heaven or hellfire.

I hope there is something more... an afterlife.
I believe my existence will cease and my body will decompose, especially if my heirs carry out my wishes to be cremated.

+1 yWhat happens when I die:
A few people will be very surprised, and a few others will be somewhat disappointed - about what's left behind.
Myself, I'll expect to be busy somewhere else if all goes well.

+1 yThe energy flow in the universe is constant. When we die, we return this energy; it will be used for other events.
For our conscious self, it's the end; the rest will be reused.

that is what happens to body but you can do the "you test". if i lose one hand i am still me, either hand. so hand not me. i can lose any tenth of my brain and still be me [like those who survive a bullet in the head] so each tenth is not me. the rest besides the brain does not think so it is not me. that leaves something "else" in the body.
When we die I go with the scripture. What happens at the 6th trump is more interesting.
