- Sometimes I wonder that, if people aren't believers in a potential afterlife, than they are ruder, impatient, than those who do "after all, you'll just potentially get that time again the next life" lol versus those who are YOLO *push people out the way, rules don't apply to me* types of terrible people lol 😂😆 😡

I don't think so that much since it hasn't become too bad yet in Japan and we're primarily an atheist country. Still we deeply value courtesy and kindness as well as tradition.
I'm one of the worst examples but I'm not a pure Japanese. I bounced all over the place growing up spent a good deal of time in the US, and I'm half-American on my mother's side. I did embrace some wild parties in my youth and had issues with substance abuse. My parents also divorced which is very uncharacteristic of Japanese marriages and I bounced back and forth between father and mother growing up.
I do think cultures are unraveling these days. Without a unifying set of cultural values (secular or theistic) to guide people down a reasonably uniform path, then I think we do end up with too much chaos and instability.
I dont relate this to " afterlife " , but I do agree that people are too rushed and rude for sure.
