Sharing the Love this Valentines Day

Sharing the Love this Valentines Day

"For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul."

-Judy Garland

This Valentines day I plan on sharing the love just like we used to do in elementary school by handing out valentines day cards indiscriminately to those around us. I see Valentines day as an opening or push to share what you feel about those you care about. Sure you can do it any day of the year but how many of us actually do? Now what I plan on doing isn't original but it is inspiring and uplifting.

A couple years ago I read an article about Ericka Anderson who is a New York citizen who decided one year to give Valentines day cards out to strangers on her daily commute. The homemade cards she gives out are nothing fantastic but it's the thought that counts. I wanted to do this last year but I unfortunately wasn't able to complete it on time. My plan this year is to give out 100 origami hearts stamped with Valentine day messages to strangers. I'll primarily be handing out origami hearts with pleated wings since it symbolizes the whole "free love" message I'm going for with this.

I encourage anyone who likes sharing happiness in the world to also participate in this #ArmyOfLove. Valentines day is more then a consumer holiday and has roots deep in history. In short I don't want people to be bitter like the Kakuhido this holiday season and for everyone to feel loved, and special this holiday season. <3

As always thanks for reading! :)
