Questions, Answers, Wording and the Gender War

This is my first myTake, so bear with me

It's no secret that the tensions between the sexes are as high as ever. Anyone who's been on GaG for at least a few days knows that this site is no exception. Lots of people have contributed to the gender war. I myself am very guilty for doing it, and it runs both ways

I personally blame 3rd wave Feminism, or for you feminists out there, Feminazis (Radical Feminists)

What is the Gender War?

Basically, it's the mentality of "Men suck" by women and "Women suck" by men. It's when someone gripes and complains about the advantages of the opposite sex, usually in context of their sex's disadvantages.

We get it. Men suck. Women suck. Can't we all just agree that life is a big enough of a bitch to go around?

Generally speaking, women have strengths that men are weak in and men have strengths that women are weak in. We tend to even each other out

So how do you avoid fueling the gender war?

Wording is everything

Avoid negative wording/insults

This is where the gender war starts. A usually pre-conceived negative notion about the opposite sex

Example:

Why are modern women so narcissistic?

This is an implied insult to women in general.

What's a better question?: There isn't much to do to make this less offensive. The best you can do is add something like ".........more narcissistic than in the past?" or a small generalizing word like "some." Try to avoid it all together though

Avoid biased wording

This is one of the hardest things to see and what I see the most

Example: Why are/can't.......; Don't you think that..........; Isn't she the most.......

Example question:

Why can't guys admit that they only want a relationship for sex?

Don't you think that Bernie would make a great candidate

Aren't women the most moral and angelic people in the world

This shows that the asker already has a side and has taken that side, and is almost always wrong about that side. This mentality tends to show in the question description. In the last case, praising or insulting the subject is a bias.

The word "Why"

Most of the gender war fueling questions begin with the word "why." It's really hard to make an unbiased question using the word why. If you want to insert negative wording into the question, using the word "why" only makes it seem like you've already taken your side. This is where the shitstorm starts because here you are insulting the entire sex

Avoid Generalizations

This is an easy one. Everything ties into this. You generalize the sex based on personal experience

Example: Why are most modern women sluts?

Generalization 101: Unless it's backed with statistics, If you use the words "most" or especially "all" you're most likely making a generalization. Try to avoid these words

Things to keep in mind

Not all

This applies to both the asker and the one answering

If someone asks a question and they don't use a generalizating word (all, most, some) It tends to be a general thing. This is where the word "some"

Example: Why are women so emotional on their periods?

This is a case where "most" could be appropriate, because most women have periods, and most of them get emotional at some point, be it anger, sadness, or happiness.......or horniness and they seemingly change with every door they walk through

Of course not all though, as some of them don't have periods. Some of them may be really good at hiding their emotions or maybe just an emotionless stone wall

Your personal experience doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things

Just because you've delt with a couple of guys who use you for sex doesn't mean they all do, or even half. One person doesn't speak for the entirety. 10 people don't speak for the entire gender.

The other sex is just as frustrated

We get it, you have problems with the opposite sex. You've dealt with narcissistic gold diggers. Insulting all women will only fuel that frustration as they take to the keyboards to defend themselves, and rightfully so

We get it. You've dealt with guys who have made you feel like shit. Insulting all men will only fuel your frustration as we take to the keyboards to defend ourselves, and rightfully so

Women irk our nerves sometimes, and I'm sure we irk their nerves

Complaining won't solve anything

Especially on the internet, complaining about your problems will do absolutely nothing most of the time, so why would you bring your gender frustrations online and frustrate everyone else? Learn from your mistakes. If you're tired of dealing with the friendzone, learn how to seduce her. If you're tired of guys trying to get out of the friendzone, release them as friends

If you have a question, ask it, but don't just complain

Ultimately

As frustrated as we are with each other as a sex, demonizing them will only make them demonize you back with more ferocity

It's a sign that we still care. If you didn't care, you wouldn't complain, right? Women have problems that it takes a man to see, and men have problems that it takes a woman to see. There are ways to point out those problems without coming off as simply bitter or insecure

Women are awesome. I couldn't put up with a monthly sacrifice to the dark lord, nor could I hold a little bastard in my stomach for 9 months. I couldn't deal with the expectations on your shoulders and the piece of meat mentality going on in some guy's mind

Men are awesome. Who do you think are the ones with the patience, will power, and strength to build, maintain, and fight for this country? For the most part (almost 100%) it's men. Feminism is trampling on masculinity, and the media has already trampled on fatherhood as a whole, portraying the father as a dumbass who needs mommy to help with simple stuff.

With the economy in decline, and Life being a bigger bitch than usual, we're all just weary of Life giving us the shaft
