Living Under A Dictatorship In 2023

If someone of the government caught me now, just because of the MyTake: I would be accused of terrorism.

The crisis in the country is getting deeper. Unemployment is unbelievable high. I wish I could just migrate and work in a developed country, but I am currently a caregiver. I am not leaving my mother alone. Although I have siblings, they just don't know how to deal with all what it takes to take care of someone with a chronic desease. In other words, I decided to take the full responsibility of taking care of my mom.

Currently, since I ended college and the pandemic is completely over, I've been thinking on starting a home business. I have many things in mind but I gotta choose carefully.

Everytime I take a walk around the city, I see the businesses more deteriorated. Also, people buying less and cheaper products. Businesses that were forever in one spot are now gone and replaced by new ones. It may sound normal, but the proliferation of many business in a country with very high unemployment, is like the effect a tsunami cause along the same coast it will hit. The drawback of the waters and the apparent calm, it's an inminente tragedy, only experts eyes can accurately predict; beside those who have experienced it.

Today I read the latest news. One of the most prestigious universities of the country, has been shut down by the government. Many others lost their permit to function as an institution.

From what I understand, many Nicaraguans have been leaving the country and migrating elsewhere for work. Do you know anyone personally who has left the country for work or expressed a desire to?

Also I am sorry for your situation, but I understand family does always come first for sure.

Either way I would definitely help you and your family relocate if I had the money but I can still remember when the protests broke out in 2018.

The state does seem to have a pretty tight sense of control over the population. After all, it has been the same guy in power for the past several decades I suppose.

But economically his policies just don’t work either. Socialism never has.

Socialism, neither capitalism, works well in their pure form.

In my country the issue is not socialism, is political extremism. We have the tendency to be extremist in that sense.

It is not that bad... yet in the USA. However, in effect, we are living in a dictatorship because there is almost nothing we can do or buy that is not regulated by the government or that does not requires a permit or a license.

You have no idea what is like to live in one, if in fact you were born, raised and STILL living in the USA.

I can read and think for myself. It is just a matter of degree. It is not easy to leave a country as large as the USA and the USA does not allow it anyway. It would be vastly different if we were fifty independent states, we were free to go to any state, and the state we left could not force their taxes on us.

I realize it can be much worse, but that is the direction the USA is headed. It greatly depends on how many people socialism is best and their numbers are growing. Look at California. What would California be like if people, especially the wealthy, in California were prevented from moving to other states.

Sounds similar to what’s going on world wide. Covid was used as a means to devalue global monetary systems, micromanage and remove individual freedoms, and further implement global communism style governance using the World Economic Forum and UN to destroy the national sovereignty of every country. The whole world is very evil at the moment.

A small business with a few workers, is already to much here. It seems the regime doesn't bother if it's a really small family business. If you start hiring people, it's seen like to good for them.

And there's no "left wing ideology" in the US politics. If anything, it could potentially become a far right dictatorship.
