What does it mean when people call you innocent?

I'm just curious since people always tell me that I'm "the innocent one." I was also wondering if it usually means something different depending on whether the person saying it is a guy or girl.

I'm really shy and timid most of the time (especially at school,) so I don't know if that has something to do with it...?

There's different definitions of innocence. To me an innocent woman is somebody who does not have evil or malicious intentions towards others.
