Slut vs Fuckboy?

Why am I labelled a fuckboy for sleeping with lots of women, but I can't label you a slut for doing the same with men?

Can someone please explain why it's ok to call a guy a fuckboy, but you can't call a girl a slut?
I always hear people say that women shouldn't be called sluts for exploring their sexuality, but then why men are shamed being called fuckboys, for the same thing?

I personally have been called a fuckboy just because I flirt with many women... Is fuckboy becoming the new "slut", where every guy that does something sexual, or similar, is shamed and called a fuckboy?

Societies around the world have been and still are to a lesser degree 'male-dominated' and go to many countries around the world and men have more freedoms than women. Men have always had the freedom to sleep around and receive praise for it, where as if a woman does it then she's a whore-lot, she cannot be married and she should be herded out of the village like a leper and left on the fringes of society.

Women through feminism are now starting to fight back. If a man can sleep around and shame women for doing the same thing then women feel they can also shame men who sleep around. The saying what is good for the goose is good for the gander applies here.

If women are going to be shamed for being sexual and enjoying the sexual liberation they have been given then why shouldn't women shame men for openly displaying hypocrisy and are doing the very same thing that they shame women for doing?

Quick question: when did the meaning of "fuckboy" change? At least as of 5-10 years ago it meant you were a clown, someone who isn't taken seriously. Like you wouldn't get any girls BECAUSE you were a fuckboy. I think it was more of a Southern term. For instance, in college a lot of my friends were football players that were black dudes from Florida, Georgia, etc, and any time there was almost a big brawl or something, they'd be calling people "fuckboy" as an insult, like calling them a pussy, saying they won't do anything. Now it sounds like dudes who play a lot of chicks are "fuckboys?" Did white people get ahold of this slang and fuck it up and misuse it? Is this like everyone saying "Bye, Felicia", but have never seen the movie Friday and don't have a clue about the reference? Kids these days...😒

I started hearing this term like last year, and always referred as the male equivalent of slut. Sometimes I do hear it with a different meaning, that's why it's kinda confusing some times.

I guess we have different meanings of the word fuckboy. I don't slut shame either gender, people do what they want/gotta do. But a fuckboy to me is a guy that manipulates and uses other people to get what he wants, with no care for the individual. Often times "fuck them over" basically (there are female equivalents to thisas well). I don't actually use the term fuckboy either, I don't call people names. But that is how I interpret the meaning of those that called others one.

Calling you one for flirting sounds silly to me.

I'm not denying that, what I'm saying is why it's ok to say one thing, but not the other? Yes, I know girls get called sluts more often, but it's wrong to do that, but it's not wrong to call a guy a fuckboy, even though we aren't call that as often as girls are called sluts.

I agree people shouldn't be calling others names, no matter what gender. But my point is that they're trying to stop people from thinking that girls who sleep around are sluts (look at the slut walk, or even trying to remove the word from the dictionary), but then it's ok for them to think of a man as a fuckboy...
It doesn't really matter if they say it out loud, if they're thinking it, it's the same "problem".

With guys, there's the guys who get lots of sex from the sluts. These guys generally don't agrrssivley shame the sluts, they just don't commit to them.
Then there's the guys who the sluts DON'T give easy sex to. These are the guys who will generally slut shame the loudest. Some of them are bitter over not getting hookups, some of them actually want a relationship with a good girl but get pissed when all of the girls in their dating pool are sluts.

Girls shame fuckboys because they're bitter over not being able to find a relationship. They get pissed when the guy they want a relationship from only wants sex. So they'll label him as a fuckboy. It's bassically "sour grapes" she's saying "oh yeah, well I never wanted him anyway, he's just a fuckboy" but she really did want him.

In my country, we don't even have a synonym of "fuckboy" whereas every girl is called slut !
