I think zoo's in general are fine, in fact a lot of the bigger well known ones serve multiple purposes and aren't just for showing animals.
There are some really bad zoo's out there though that do need to be shut down.
I really enjoy zoos , they are nice and the people taking care of them do a great job... from what I've seen

I say everyone needs to now what happens behind doors before investing money in a any zoo. Better investigate ( google) what the hell is happening and what is the mision of that particular zoo planned to visit. Otherwise boycott and dont support. A zoo is a business. A typical zoo dont have a proper program for rehabilitation, care, and much less reproduction. A typical zoo won't be able to care for new babies, so guessed what happen to them? Zoos are an atrocity, a form of slavery to show off wild animal. Sanctuaries on the other hand are different and they usually are near the zone a particualrr animal is in danger. _ near his habitat
@up_here that's why I said "proper" . Obviously some zoos are not doing things well but many truly care for and about the animals
Zoos won't be banned and we have gone over this like a billion times now i dont know why this topic regained its popularity now. Just lookup the advantages of zoos and you will understand how beneficial they are for us and for the animals themselves.
I would prefer a middle ground. Ban the encagement of all large animals that typically require wide areas to live in, such as lions and Elephants. But keep all the smaller critters.
Zoo-s yes, reservations no. Because Zoo-s usually do not have the financial background to care the animals as much as it goes above basic life sustaining.
They shouldn't be banned. If u start like that then u should also ban having pets or horses or all that stuff.
I don't go to the zoo very often and I don't support everything 100% but all in all it's a good thing in my opinion
I don't know. I think it's terrible we are locking animals in small enclosures for our entertainment.

zoos are great. it's not the zoo's fault some people can't be responsible, no ones perfect. But on a global scale i think is pretty ridiculous.
yes please!!! Besides the cruelty that happens in many zoos, newer genereations seem to reject the whole idea because is really sad to see wild living beings been caged for live.

No zoo's help us understand animals. Human beings tend to be more afraid of what we don't understand, and we're more likely to kill what we don't understand.
thing is with habitat loss taking place on a large scale. zoo's provide some safe havens for vulnerable species that might otherwise disappear in the wild , if the zoo's didn't exist I don't know where else these animals would live
no it shouldn't be. it gives people as well as kids a chance to view nature's creatures without much affecting our urban feel!
I think zoos need to have more natural space instead of keeping them in glass containers in a building or walls or whatever. They literally have to sit there in a small room for most of their lives so we can stare at them. They need to make it bigger

I think zoos should only take animals that are sick or deeply hurt from the wild. Not kidnap healthy ones that are doing just fine.

Concrete zoos with small area for the animals, yes.. If I were in charge I'd change it to a different concept of zoo. A wide grassy plane of land with trees, lakes, etc. Like a safari.
