Yup there should be a men's day too. Imagine the discount on Mens products on that day. Damn it will be good for companies too. Anyways all days, be it mother's day, valentines day, women's day has been commercialised.
@wr123990 so instead of disagreeing with me by engaging in conversation or with a downvote, you tell me to stfu and call me a bitch. You are on your way to becoming a wonderful person.
If it weren't for men and the sacrifices of men, you would not have the basic comforts that make your narcissistic privileged little life that you have. MEN created the city you live in, the house you live in, the roads, etc. MEN created the cars, planes, and transport that bring you products. MEN worked and died in the oil fields and mines to get you the oil based products (makeup, plastics, etc) and metal based products you enjoy without thought. MEN advanced science and technology that give you advanced medicine and technology.
If you want to know what it would be like without men doing what they have done for you... mentalfloss. com/.../8-historic-pregnancies-everyone-was-watching
You would live in a bronzed aged tribe in a straw hut. So pull your head out of your entitled ass and appreciate that you have the privileged little world you have because of men.
@bekkesmash In certain respects they are marginalized, but as it stands the UN doesn't represent primarily western countries. United Nations stands for all countries over the world. Currently compared to males, women still have it pretty bad in most places. In western countries religion plays a primary role in the subjugation and limitation on women, same in 3rd world. Yes, women are still marginalized.
I did not understand that either... for a time. How is putting one specific gender on a pedestal going to make women and men equal? You must take into account how people act. When we are born, we each live in our own specific world, the way we perceive reality, our "illusion". For girls they have, for a time always seen themselves as being locked into the notion they must act appropriately, be a brood mare and treat their husband like a king. That was their entire world. But by disrupting that girls are able to look outside of what they have known and become better more stronger versions of themselves. For the 5 guy's who downvoted this, they have lived in a reality that makes them aware that women must act and be a certain way. It's just how they see the world, nothing wrong with it except that whether they have good intentions or not they see the need in this situation to counter this movement.
I return to the statement of what i said however, digressing back to the idea of how a majority of women still perceive reality of having to dress and act a certain way. Almost a sort of slave mentality. A study on happiness in slaves back in the early 19th century revealed that second and 3rd generation slaves felt far happier than 1st generation. The 1st generation felt the least happy because they understood what it meant to be truly happy. Women are no different in this regard, they now have access to an entire trove of knowledge, and are only just beginning to understand how fucked into a corner they were by society. This isn't to say that males don't have somewhat similar problems too, such as always having extreme societal standards, but there is far less expectations on them to remain composed, settling down, being married etc.. etc. It did not help either when a majority of males compounded the belief girls are supposed to act a certain way.
Until people admit misandry is real, more men will continue to go MGTOW and the ranks of the MRA will rise and rightfully so. Radical liberalism tends to shame men and masculinity while putting women and femininity on the pedestal. We don't need feminism anymore, we need egalitarianism.
Not even third world countries need feminism, they need better human rights which can be acquired through egalitarianism otherwise their feminist movements will end up like the third wave feminist movements in first world countries. Look at Japan, they don't have feminism and you never here Japanese women complaining about "misogyny". Yet the feminists always attack Japan for not having a feminist movement.
It's real, misandry exists, but only in small sects of feminism. Most often it's the people who shouldn't be heard speaking the loudest. It's expected, men feel the need to be apart of something in the face of adversity. Every action need's an equal or opposite reaction. The process of a conflict is egalitarian itself, both sides are represented. But societies views of the individual are still too childish like I said before, people feel comfortable living in their reality and have a hard time coping with perceptions that do not align with their own.
Not saying that it is, but people tend to think women are a marginalized group in western countries too. And I said westernized countries, which even most of Africa is, take it from someone who has lived in 4 different African countries.
@bekkesmash Glad you are telling me how Africa is, always fascinated by the continent. But in most respects your opinion is wrong, western women have had to deal with quite a lot regarding sexual advances, the wage gap and gender society standards. With which who's same standards are placed upon males as well. Just in a different light. We can argue about who has it worse but nothing really get's done. Nothing with a positive outcome anyway.
The wage gap? If they could pay women less for the same job, they would only hire women and save a lot of money. Give me a country and ill tell you when same pay for the same work across genders literally became a legal statute. There is an earnings gap for sectors as a whole because women chose to do less lucrative degrees, it's there own fault, not discrimination.
Sexual advantages? Small price to pay when the thing that causes that is the biggest biological advantage women have (disproportionate sexual attraction) it makes life far easier when you are desired far more than men, shit even "straight" women are more aroused by the female body than the male body (look up dr chivers and dr riegers work).
@bekkesmash You are not going to change your nor my mind, least of all on an internet chat. It sucks, I know. In any case leave the rest up to you, what you want me to believe in is entirely up to you.
I think most people don’t care about any of these types of days. I’m sure the everyday person doesn’t care about women’s day, men’s day, cupcake day, or whatever else days there are.
Your ignorance shows your age. If it weren't for men and the sacrifices of men, you would not have the basic comforts that make your narcissistic privileged little life that you have. thats entirely different yes it does make sense your just choosing not to understand it if you doht care abouts mens day why should we care about womens day
@LogicBomber I don't remember asking you shit, you shallow, arrogant shit. And, I'm no where near privileged, you're so full of shit. ONE: Women birthed men. TWO: Women have added to society alongside everyone else THREE: Women live longer than men, so technically you need us more than we need you.
you just proved him right congragtulations you realize your the only one spewing shit i made a point you got angry then verbally malicious just because he felt the same you feel now exept you started it
We aren't. There's an international women's day to show positivity and support for the sex that has been historically oppressed. Men have not be historically oppressed just for being men. It's like someone wanting a straight pride parade. There's zero need for one. Just be glad we don't need a men's day
If you're bringing sexual assault and rape into this, you are really talking to the wrong person. I'm a victim of sexual abuse. I've gone through looking at support groups and seeing "women only" on the signs (which I am fine with by the way. I understand that as a man my presence can be scary in those situations. There is a need for women only support groups). I know there is more support in place for women and people are more likely to believe them and take it seriously than me when reporting the same thing. I get that. But I've also seen that get better. I've seen a jump in how many people support male victims and are quick to correct others when they say rape only happens to women. I've found support groups and chat sites that are for men only. More and more books are being written for male victims, or at the least are written in a way men and women can both relate to. Is it equal? No, not yet. But there is a genuine effort going into fixing that problem. People see it and ->
recognize that it needs to change. That's more than can be said about several problems women face. So do I see the lack of equality in some situations? Yes. Do I feel because of those things I need an international men's day? No.
@troychapman to recognize women's achievements, to spread awareness of violence against women and promote women's education. None of these that men lack. There's no need for it.
Since MEN have pretty much created everything around you and have made your life the entitled privileged bubble that it is... MEN should be recognized for the achievements MORE than the pat on the back that women constantly get by society for nonsense. It's easy to accomplish something when men have paved the way and removed all obstacles for you.
Men don't lack education? Take a look at the college gender gap and graduation differences between male and female students. Why do women need anymore encouragement for educating themselves when it's clearly men who are falling behind academically from a lack thereof?
There are more women with higher education degrees than there are men now, so I don't really think female education in western cultures needs to be promoted.
You know @macix670 as one sided and ignorant your opinion is I can't really get angry at you. Feminism is indoctrinating this "only women are victims" mindset for decades in your public education system, media and movies.
You really should watch the "The Red Pill". It's a about a former feminist who takes time research men's rights organizations. It's free if you have Amazon prime.
Of course I highly doubt you will watch it, although it would benefit you. But hey I'm just throwing that out there. #theredpill
@LogicBomber If it weren't for international women's day and celebrating women's achievements, people like you would still complain that women havent' contributed anything and are stupid. Oh wait, but you still do complain. Another reason why we need international women's day, not men's day. You fool, educate yourself before making ignorant statements.
@PlacentaSalad It's called international women's day, not just Western women's day. ALL WOMEN AROUND THE WORLD. Women in third world countries are beaten to death, killed for getting an education. God, can't you people stop and think?
People in countries where women are actually oppressed don't care about international women's day, and celebrating it in western civilization (where feminists actually have the freedoms to do so) doesn't do anything for them either. It's still pointless.
@PlacentaSalad They celebrate achievements of women in ALL countries. It is absolutely needed because men believe women are stupid and didnt' contribute anything.
@macix670 VERY eurocentric. Women die for getting education in some countries? well what about the ''men'' of certain villages that get round up and killed? what about how in the Philippians they celebrate by lining a bunch of baby boys and circumcise them in a public room all together? what about the fact that boys and men are the main victim to war casualties in terms of civilians? No one believes women as a whole are stupid, but a good portion of you sure do fall for that ''women are the only victim'' narrative that is being pushed by a man named goerge sorrows who has capitalized a ton of money off of making fabricated lies and demean men in the process. Take a look in the mirror.
@macix670 It's easy to stand on your high horse and use 3rd world women as a scapegoat when you aren't actually living in a place where you are oppressed. You feminist keep claiming you want equality... but for you, equality means getting things but not giving those things to men EQUALLY.
HERE in the west... Men are 97% of combat fatalities. Men pay 97% of Alimony Men are 94% of work suicides. Men are 93% of work fatalities. Men are 81% of all war deaths. Men lose custody in 84% of divorces. 80% of all suicides are men. 77% of homicide victims are men.
But women in fucked up middle east countries where everything is wrong, die trying to go to school. SO, therefore, you need an international women's day but fuck men's day?
You can do the school yard name calling, it doesn't make your argument any more valid.
@LogicBomber I'm longing for the day we can move just responding with cold hard facts on GAG and the speak the truth out loud in public. Some guys have tried to do it, but they usually get instantly ostracized or muzzled. Former Google engineer James Damore is perfect example. The guy fought with well thought out, hard facts (and some educated opinions) about the counterproductiveness of "diversity" programs and subsequently got fired from Google. However his stance is not in vain, his termination lead to viral attention. However not too many guys are willing to be martys (including me) or we are worried that it will hurt our chances of getting laid.
@somewheresomeway That is how feminist work, they don't want the truth or facts. They want adherence to their doctrine. Anyone who disagrees is lynched and they will stand at nothing to destroy the person's life, simply for speaking out against them.
Gregory Alan Elliott told feminist on twitter that they were wrong. He was met with death threats, beratement, and endless attacks. Non-of-which were considered hate speak by twitter. While his account was shut down because disagreeing with feminist is considered hate. He then got dragged through court for 4 years on "harassment" charges and they almost destroyed his life.
Bullies never want the truth pointed out and they will usually do anything to silence it. But it's becoming harder for them to do so.
@troychapman Not that feminist are evil, I am sure some females join it thinking it's what it claims to be, but it's more like a hate group ideology which indoctrinates young females into false victimhood and pushed a bullshit agenda.
@LogicBomber I've met some "feminists" who are really "egalitarian". I even identify as egalitarian.
The good news is that now many women are seeing the long term negative effects of feminism. It's creating passive pleasing men most women don't want. But we got a ways to go to reverse the damage.

Not surprised, women are pampered. They get what they want. Men are disposable in today's society.
I think these type of days shouldn't exist anyways, but it's funny how women are oppressed, but they're celebrated while men aren't.

Isn't that... everyday? Lol
It's not.
Ridiculous. Too many stupid holidays.
Illinois apparently has a Barack Obama day.
Lmfao
there is no men day, there is a bash white male day everyday
im not white though so I get my own day too. sorry adfsd
@Karahiri World toilet day? Yeah I'd have thought that is every day...
@Cosytoasty wow, I completely misread this post if she was talking about toilet day. awkward
@wr123990 thats it, im calling your parents
@Cosytoasty i know... makes me wonder about the UN's priorities.
@wr123990 so instead of disagreeing with me by engaging in conversation or with a downvote, you tell me to stfu and call me a bitch. You are on your way to becoming a wonderful person.

@LogicBomber I was just saying that international toilet day is everyday... thanks, crazy.
Sure.
@karahiri yo let's engage in conversation then. explain what you meant by it being mens day everyday.
@wr123990 i said every day is world toilet day because we all use toilets.
@karahiri ohhh. Don't I feel like a mug now? Thought you meant everyday was men's day, even though women get a lot more "celebration" right now
@wr123990 You should. It's just depressing how you automatically went on the defensive and were incredibly rude.
I know, I'm not normally like that trust me, I was just really mad at the time
@karahiri Wow once again, GaG delivers on completely missing the irony 😂
(runninf away before this reply stirs up another shitstorm)
@Cosytoasty the bitterness is getting to the young ones way too quick. :x
Nobody needs awareness Day.
Stupidity is to be expected from the UN
I honest don't care nor celebrate those "days" unless j gwt a paid day off lol.
It should be recognised, but the UN are clearly a bunch of bigoted sexists...
Simples...
Men aren't really a marginalized group, it makes no sense for it to be recognized.

Women have life easier than men in western countries, both socially and legally.
@bekkesmash UN isn't comprised of entirely western countries. Did @ADFSDF1996 in his question specify western countries?
Not saying that it is, but people tend to think women are a marginalized group in western countries too. And I said westernized countries, which even most of Africa is, take it from someone who has lived in 4 different African countries.
@bekkesmash Glad you are telling me how Africa is, always fascinated by the continent. Surely I have changed your mind about the wage gap, I was just stating facts, how can you disagree?
@bekkesmash You did change my mind in the sense that this conversation is pointless. Stating an opinion then calling it fact does not make it right.
It's literally the law that women get paid the same for the same work, give me a country and ill site the legal statute.
@bekkesmash Antarctica.
That's a continent
@bekkesmash It's where im from
which region?
@bekkesmash McMurdo
That's barely a town, what country does it fall under?
@bekkesmash Multiple, it's a research station
Yeah, a glorified prefab, it must be part of a country though, it has to be governed by law.
@bekkesmash There is no law, there is only the wage gap there. Males are forced to make 1/100th of what women make.
I think most people don’t care about any of these types of days. I’m sure the everyday person doesn’t care about women’s day, men’s day, cupcake day, or whatever else days there are.
UN is useless... I don't approve of their weird and shitty ways to do things.
No shock what is recognised by men these days. We protected women from dinosaurs.
Idgaf, ydgaf, why should we gaf that this is a holiday dedicated to beer and football?
hmm same could be said about women but you dont mind because it benefits your gehder

@somewheresomeway getting fired for speaking out? wow...
@FreedomByChoice Google him (no pun intended)
@somewheresomeway hahaha
@LogicBomber so basically feminists are evil?
@troychapman Not that feminist are evil, I am sure some females join it thinking it's what it claims to be, but it's more like a hate group ideology which indoctrinates young females into false victimhood and pushed a bullshit agenda.
@LogicBomber I've met some "feminists" who are really "egalitarian". I even identify as egalitarian.
The good news is that now many women are seeing the long term negative effects of feminism. It's creating passive pleasing men most women don't want. But we got a ways to go to reverse the damage.
@somewheresomeway Yeah it's like curing cancer.
It's no big deal really. We don't need it.
How many men have even heard of it? I never have.
Who cares what the UN recognizes or thinks.
