TRIGGER WARNING. Do you think women are faker and act more disingenuous than men when it comes to sexual attraction and appearance manipulation? (Page 2)
Right but you made it sound like "some" of those men drive women to do what they do.. I mean in a way yeah that's true, but I was just lettin you know.. If I didn't read it, I wouldn't have responded to it.. LMAO.. & Yes, I don't deny the a lot of men be jerks when it comes to a woman's appearance.. A lot..
@LegateLanius Yes, that might be true but I believe that the men’s purposes for wearing makeup and heels were more for utility and practicality reasons rather than for appearance. Meaning, they probably used makeup and heels for combat purposes to gain a tactical advantage against the enemy. Even today military use makeup when trying to camouflage themselves against shrubs, bushes, gravel, mud, etc.
Well, yes, heels used to be for men, but makeup has been around forever. Think back to Egypt when women would smear their eyes with black charcoal. Women have always used different methods to appear attractive to men. I agree, some women totally overdo it with the makeup that they are unrecognizable without it, but when used go accentuate her natural beauty, I don't see any problem with that. Also, makeup is starting to become a thing men are getting into. Beauty standards and the methods we use to achieve them change overtime, but they always have and always will exist.
I think makeup and heels can create a false sense of confidence. If a woman is confident when she has these things on, what will she be without them? They’re a crutch. It’s unnecessary and counterproductive. Eventually you’ll have to take these things off and reveal your true self. With men, what you see is what you get. There’s no deception.
Well, that’s one specific instance. Ask yourself why men aren’t wearing heels today but women all over the world are? Also, only specific people and cultures had heels in them way back when, so it wasn’t even the entire world.
Well what if you're a woman like myself who has chronic hormonal acne? Am I supposed to walk around feeling ugly? I wear cover-up to hide it because it is not part of me, just a condition I have little control over.
If men back then wore it to feel good about themselves, why would it not be the case today? Biologically speaking, there’s no difference between a man’s urges and instincts today than during the time you’re alluding to when men wore heels. That’s why I believe heels had a more pragmatic purpose back then as opposed to today. You can even find men wearing heels for combat purposes
They didn't they wanted flaunt wealth. The Enlightenment started the notion that men should shift towards practical clothing. Slowly men stopped wearing jewels, all kinds of weird fabric and heels.
That seems like an oversimplification. What cultures or countries are you referring to exactly? I doubt this was happening in a broad sense. It was probably very exclusive, meaning, only the rich would be able to afford the heels, jewels, and weird fabrics.
I repeat myself again, since you are choosing to ignore my comment. What if you're a woman like myself who has chronic hormonal acne? Am I supposed to walk around feeling ugly? I wear cover-up to hide it because it is not part of me, just a condition I have little control over.
Well, that’s different I’d say. I’m just not sure how a man would feel if he approached you under false pretenses and then came to discover that about you later on. It still goes back to what I’m saying of, “what you see is what you get.” You’re instance is understandable because it isn’t that intrusive but how about the contorting to create cheekbones, slimming of the nose, manipulating the eyebrows, lip augmentation, etc. Those are just the face. Heels change your body and height, literally altering you physically. How is this not deception? What is it meant to accomplish and is it counterproductive?
Any guy that I've been with has been fine with it, because I can't really hide all of it, its still noticeable. But again, there is a difference between using makeup to accentuate natural beauty like this... 4.bp.blogspot.com/.../Makeup+3.jpg and over using makeup, like Kim Kardashian, such as this... i.dailymail.co.uk/.../...a-a-101_1460007905216.jpg
I think Kim Kardashian is one of the main reasons today why men think makeup is fake, because she is the definition of superficial and fake, and unfortunately a lot of women try and emulate her look.

Actually, many men are less demandin and judge-y than many women.. LOL..
@JDavid25 i said SOME lmfao, did you read or?
@JDavid25 men complain about women w what they want to wear/look, don't get me wrong some girls do the same shit for men but y'all do it too
Right but you made it sound like "some" of those men drive women to do what they do.. I mean in a way yeah that's true, but I was just lettin you know.. @JDavid25 yeah, true, it's stupid I'm just tired of us having to dress in a certain way so some men can stop blabbering, it can be a bother

Yes. Why is this even a question? It's been like that for thousands of years.
not so much. Men used to wear make up and high heels started with men.
@LegateLanius

Aristocrats wore them all the time

Remember back to a previous question you asked. The one that you didn't read? King Louis the 17th happened to make red high heels part of his court.
Well, that’s one specific instance. Ask yourself why men aren’t wearing heels today but women all over the world are? Also, only specific people and cultures had heels in them way back when, so it wasn’t even the entire world.

It began to grow out of men's fashion after women started doing it over several centuries. After about 1900, men didn't wear them anymore
If men back then wore it to feel good about themselves, why would it not be the case today? Biologically speaking, there’s no difference between a man’s urges and instincts today than during the time you’re alluding to when men wore heels. Okay..

Definitely, that's why women get called a tease more often than men hahahahahaha
I think that's a given. Then again, they're just reacting to standards set by men.
That's more or less true yeah.
absolutely, 100%, no doubt.
Yeah
I don't understand why the downvotes
I just came to read the comments
Indeed
Usually in most cases, yes.
