For people who believe in races, Asian men are placed in the hierarchy just next to white men. They still get slightly more respect than white guys, but not much or often. They are denied into colleges because of their work and are often left out of job advancements. Despite all of this they still make the most in the US as far as annual household incomes for a group. This was a horrible act, but the "news" treats people based on race and under that system Asians get slighted. I don't believe in races but clearly see culture. Asian cultures tend to value work and succeed because of it but success creates enemies especially in the media.
Just because he claims to be a feminist, it doesn't actually mean he is one. His actions have nothing to do with feminism, and if anything it sounds way more likely that he used feminism just to justify this very obvious hate crime. I can also claim to be an MRA, go into a restaurant and kill women. Doesn't mean I'm actually an MRA.

Feminism doesn't explicitly state a position on the matter. Moreover, it's often stated that everyone gets to define what feminism means to them. If he felt he was motivated by feminism, then that's for him to define. Each individual can denounce the behaviour, but that doesn't change his perspective. If he felt feminism motivated him then all we can say is that he's a psycho feminist, it's that straightforward.

This was clearly a very racist move by him, if he thinks that 3 random Asian men represent whatever scripted injustice he saw in a movie. Feminism is anti-racism and anti-hate crime, and feminists constantly discuss these matters and fight against them. Everyone *doesn't* get to define what feminism means to them. Sure, there are different branches within the movement, but at its very core there are some matters that are quite clear-cut, with anti-racism being one of them since it's a basic matter of equality. You simply cannot be a feminist if you're ok with randomly killing Asians because of some shit you saw on tv. It goes against the very core of what feminism is about. Just like you can't call yourself a Christian if you, in the same breath, deny the existence of God and Jesus.
There’s no doctrine to point to which says what feminism says on the matter. There’s nothing to explicitly state this isn’t compatible with at least some interpretations of feminism.
Intersectional feminists take a state against racism, but that’s also only their interpretation of racism. Plenty of feminists don’t have a problem with violence against white people specifically because their position on racism makes them feel it’s okay. So saying you’re against racism and hate crimes means nothing coming from a feminist since so many basically use that as an excuse to be overtly racist.
There are people who call themselves “atheistic Christians” they basically follow the Bible’s teachings about morals and they go to church, but don’t believe in the metaphysical claims of the Bible. Furthermore there is actually doctrines that try to claim who is and isn’t Christian and that’s also why you get all these different sects of people who think they are the “real” interpretation. But feminism has no doctrine and no pope to standardize the ideology.
Additionally, feminism is primarily focuses around women. Just like Christianity is focused around Jesus. Yet a Christian can shoot up people in the name of god and we still call them Christian, especially if they say “it’s God’s will” or something like that. Well this guy did it in the name of women and no one has any authority to claim he didn’t believe what he did was in the best interests of women regardless of how insane *you* think it is.

There are core elements to feminism, but not murdering people isn’t actually included in that. It’s just a thing most people in general tend to be on board with. He sustained the injuries whilst fighting back which he had every right to do the marshal responded with brute force which apparently was neither wrong nor right in the terms of his employment as he's now suing United for not setting guidelines as to how he was meant to respond (I don't know how that works) he got fired but I think the only person that can press charges against him is the guy that dragged out which he didn't so I don't know
Let me tell you a personal experience of mine. I used to be an intern as a Journalist at The Sun Malaysia. Once, the CEO had organised a trip to New York. We had a chance to visit the New York Times HQ. The vibe there was very unwelcoming. Its like all the journalists over there are like "penuh dengan dirinya sendiri" meaning too full of themselves. All of the whiteboards were filled Alt right and trump. I didn't think too much about it cause I wasn't very versed in American politics during my trip. Once they had us cooperate with the journalists and our topic was racism. So, I went to find in the police reports, social media anything worthy for a story and happend to find a incident which involves two armed robbers gunning down a black woman with her son. The shooter was black and the driver was white. I decided this was good reading material so I done additional research and eventually showed to my buddy. The next part will probably shock you. I eventually showed it to her and without hesitation she asked me where the prepators white. I told her they were black and looked towards me and said that i was not experienced enough and told me I never faced real racism. I just brushed it off and probably thought she was in a bad mood. I was able to glance a sneak peek at her article she was working on. It was about a teen that allegedly was jogging on the street when cops came and gunned him down. I decided to do research my way and found out he wasn't jogging but had a history of gang shootings and started running away and pulled out with gun while the cops tried to talk to him. That's my experience. There's a reason a lot of south Asians dislike Americans.
Because there is no influx of male feminists attempting take the rights from 50% of the population, there is no trend where male feminists are violently killing women, there is not persistent massacres with the same sentiment written on manifesto's by male feminists... but I am going to assume that you are trying to make something out of this incident because it makes you mad that people talk about the precious masculinity and the undeniable slant of violent crimes committed by males who are "anti feminists" or at least incorporate that as part of their identity.
Stop trying to make this a thing... he was a crazy dude and it doesn't disqualify feminism or men identifying as feminists anymore than saying a gay rapist is somehow representative of all gay people... if there were a trend of gay people being rapists, then sure you could look into it but there isn't and that is the same with male feminists being violent, it is not common that those two things go together so there is no reason to make out that those things are somehow relevant to each other on a large scale..

I think the reason was because he was kind of insane. Peoples reactions weren't aimed at anger toward him but rather shock for the crime itself and sorrow for the families. With the George Floyd situation, the cops were completely right in the mind. Plus, if it had been a cop who was fully sane who attacked three Asians in a restaurant, I'm sure the outrage would be unbelievable. It has nothing to do with people liking blacks more than Asians, or whites more than Asians. Its just who was involved as the perpetrator
In my eyes he should be charged with first-degree murder, a hate crime, and life imprisonment. I condemn his toxic distorted view of feminism but there are many good male feminists out there, so I won't put them all under one banner.
A similar thing happened with the "Charlottesville car attack" in 2017.
The Mayor of Charlottesville, the Virginia Secretary of Public Safety, the Attorney General and the FBI director called the attack an act of domestic terrorism, yet the man who did the car attack only got charged under "hate crime."

Not to mention, I have just looked up the ruling on hate crime charges in the USA and they can result in life imprisonment or death depending on the state- which exact hate crime charged, was he charged with?

When are those articles from? And I think it's important we know what kind of hate crime he was charged with because in US law a hate crime involving murder can be punishable by life imprisonment or the death penalty.

It’s sad that the media only portrays these deaths for political leverage rather than showing the truth of what’s going on. We should care about every race, not just our own race.
1. Media doesn't care to push it. For fairly obvious reasons (media only cares about white/black racial tensions and guns).
2. I think most of the outrage when these racial killings happen are b/c it's from cops. When it's civilians killing civilians, I think most people are just like "ok, that's normal and expected", unless it's a mass shooting. Then people pretend to care.
Protests occur to send a message to oppressors and leaders with actual power to make change. The protests that have occurred stem from injustice where people in law and higher ups are never held accountable for the unjust killings. This guy was quickly put in jail and sentenced to pay for his crime.
You know the saying it's only a crime if you get caught well add to it it's only as big as how many people see it happen. Crimes happen everyday some more hideous than others but society hasn't imploded into total anarchy yet because these crimes simply aren't put on every front page. The case with George Floyd is that everyone and their mother saw it and that's what turned the case of one murder to set a city on fire. Media man they control the flow of everything.

Do you have any idea just how many heinous crimes including murder that there are in a year. There is no way that we can cover all of them. It’s not a liberal agenda shit, it’s that we can’t possibly discuss all murder cases that happen in the country.

But you are oblivious to them supporting more injustices than the rest of the population. If you want equality for all you will focus more of your efforts on groups who more often face inequality just like if you want all children to have equal access to education, you'll build more schools in places that have less (and in either case, you're not playing favorites or marginalizing). I said more (but not all) efforts to combat inequality should be focused at helping groups that face discrimination more often just like giving more food aid to countries that have more hungry people isn't marginalizing people who are suffering in countries where hunger is less prevalent. I'm not saying that individuals can't or shouldn't focus on hate crimes against certain groups even though others have it harder I'm saying that if one group faces more discrimination than others it's only appropriate there would be a greater outcry against the injustices committed against that group.
Yeah and if you want true equality you'll focus more effort on groups that face more discrimination just like if you want equal access to healthcare you'll build more hospitals in places that have less.
Both apples and oranges are great sources of vitamins, electrolytes and fiber and in both situations you have to direct more resources against the disenfranchised group to reach equality.
In this context they are perfectly comparable and you're only pretending otherwise because they refute your argument and show that you're contriving a double standard.
And with any service, if you want people to have equal access to it, you'll put more resources to increase availability in areas that have less of it. Again, you're case is refuted.

They could be considered as such. Just like campaigning against pollution and police brutality are both forms of activism and both would rightfully focus more of their campaigning against places that are more polluted and demographics disproportionately more likely to suffer from police brutality.
Even if it doesn't, it would be expected that an activist group opposing either would focus more efforts on areas or demographics more impacted by them.

I mean if you had 2 towns, one where 5 people were killed by police brutality and another where 43 people were killed, would you really expect there to be the same amount of protests in each town? You can shout it till your blue but it doesn't change the fact that there is a long standing history of police brutality and that mass movements often have rallying cries.
In what way are Asians being marginalized? I mean they were subjected to a spike in hate crimes due to pandameic paranoia but there was an outcry against that. Yes, hate crimes against Asians occurred before then but they were less likely to suffer from hate crimes than the rest of the US population. That's not to say that hate crimes against Asians don't matter it's just that people who campaign against hate crimes would (rightfully) focus more (but not all) of their efforts in helping demographics more frequently subjected to hate crimes.
On it's own it doesn't but it adds a lot more credence when he cites his sources. But posting a video discussing the public perception of Asian stereotypes doesn't get you any closer to making the case for stereotyping Asians being more acceptable than doing the same to African Americans.
A source being "biased" doesn't make it unreliable by default (and not all of the sources he cited were biased in the first place) but you could post plenty of examples but it doesn't show that stereotyping of Asians is more acceptable than African Americans.
