While I think the guy should have been punished, we do not allow vigilante justice in this country.
We do not allow rape either. But I don't think it should have gone as far as the balls too. That was excessive.
We don't allow rape, but she chose not to pursue legal action that punishes rape. At that point any act she took against him would be illegal unless he tried to rape her again and she defended herself.
The legal system doesn't always work. Raped women often dont get justice and innocent men often go to jail. In these cases vigilante justice is fine.

well, vigilante justice is more old school, the punishment is immediate. not prolonged like prison. i wouldn't say that makes it worse. i think being isolated from society and your loved ones and being stuck with equally or much more crazy and evil individuals for years is worse than corporal punishment. i would take 10 whips to by back or a beating over 2 years imprisonment.

I wonder what woman who have been murdered by rapists would say to your statement, that revenge is neve the right answer, if they could be brought back to life? Would they agree or say, ""where is that punk ass #@%!#*, I'm going to skin his frank for what he did to me!"
Most of them would probably be in shock, confused and afraid after coming back to life. But the point isn't what what they would think or say. The guy wasn't officially judged in court and she commit a crime. I would say her crime is probably lighter than his, but that doesn't mean we should support this behaviour. We have laws exactly to prevent these things from becoming bigger conflicts. What would she have done if he had a wife or a kid in the apartment? What if they protected him out of love? I'm not saying I wouldn't wish harm on someone in the same situation, that's because it makes sense to hate him and he disgusted by him, however we have rules to de-escalate situations like this, otherwise the country would collapse. Hence, an eye for an eye and the world goes blind.
Just in case you haven't noticed, the country seems already to be collapsing around us. What is one more collapse?

That sentence is stupid i most cases revenge is the only answer. People who dont retaliate usually keep getting abused and killed. People who retaliate survive and succeed.
And that's why we have the government to make sure people are fairly judged instead of people randomly killing eachother in spiraling hatred. This is literally the whole reason why we even have a goverment. So just about 3000 years of history says it's not so stupid.
People who retaliate go to jail, not sure if I see that as a success.

Oh my god, you absolutely shattered my expectations, a few cases around the world in the last 30 years definitely makes me acknowledge that the government is corrupt in its very essence and only resolves around money. It's almost like it's made up of people with their own ideas and lives.
Truth of the matter is that for most of the countries, for most of the time, it's just people trying to make live peaceful. Can you imagine a country without police force?
