I also don't think you *have* to do anything but encouraging others to follow a virtuous character while also doing so yourself is beneficial for others (and appreciated).
Wait, I thought feminism was about equality. And now you want to equate yourself with a sect of feminism (a movement already questioned by Second Wave Founders as going too far now) that actively supports hatred of men for female dominance?
And this is supposed to... bring peace between genders?
@SomeGuyCalledTom I was always brought up to believe that if you've got hate in your heart, you might as well follow through on it. I support equal rights as much as anyone but to the lengths gone in the Western World are beyond Draconian. Even other feminists agree on that. If "Amanda" and other like-minded want to really do something, why not advocate in regions like Russia where feminism has been declared outright illegal? Or Mogadishu? Places where its needed? I apologize for dumping on you like this but I wish RadFems would stop pounding ALL men into the ground. It's my experience that when a movement gets to points like this, rational two way discussion is impossible. Its "their" way or obliteration.
Your comment is nonsensical. Or, at best, a very poor understanding and interpretation of what I wrote. I did no such thing.
Don't come at me like this. Your account may have been created in 2017 but we are not familiar with each other. You know nothing about me. (You could easily find out by looking through my account, but that takes too much energy for most. You prefer, instead, to take this one question, standalone, without any further context , and fall into the comfortable habit of coming to all sorts of assumptions about me, based purely on one thing - my gender. I am not who you have so conveniently labelled me. You create more divide. I am attempting to bridge it.
"I was always brought up to believe that if you've got hate in your heart, you might as well follow through on it." What the hell kind of life lesson is that? That's ridiculous.
Thank you @SomeGuyCalledTom I appreciate that. Thank god for people like you, and many others who I consider friends on this string. We've put the work and energy into getting to know one another, to really listen, and I feel good about that, as proven by all your thoughtful and heartfelt comments here.
And P. S. I am extremely logical, and my name really is Amanda. I have an avatar but otherwise I do not wear a mask. But you can't be bothered, or gracious enough, to even allow me that, without challenge, can you? (That's rhetorical.)
Very true. But it seems as if men are becoming less so, and women are picking more of it up. If James Brown released "Man's World" tomorrow, they'd be calling for his head on a pike, but "girls rule the world" is belted by every woman within earshot when it comes on (I've even seen them lean in real close to any man unfortunate enough to be within reach and screech it in his face). And that strikes most people as completely normal, but if you reverse the genders and have a man singing "man's world" in a woman's face, it would send women into a rage.
All true. But it's what happens when balance of power shifts, doesn't it? Any group, when banned together and increased in number, and that becomes more powerful will begin to act up, emboldened by their new might. (Not saying it's right. But it is human nature.)
100%. And we are a combination of primal selfishness and survival, with higher thinking proportionally enormous cerebral cortexes, so every impulse and decision must find a balance between the two.
Humans will never all agree. But compromise is when neither party is entirely satisfied, right. So the debate goes on...
There are a few of us who can sit and talk respectfully about issues and come to an understanding, but not enough. I think for most people, it's a lack of self-awareness and self-understanding. They don't understand the pull of the unconscious mind and how it tends to lead us in bad directions, and more importantly how to keep it in check and rely on their higher functions rather than getting emotional and playing dirty just to show each other up
In the video that Danpu posted, she perfectly illustrates what I'm talking about. She realized later that she unconsciously altered the conversation in her own mind, and mentioned one particular thought that seemed perfectly rational at the time, but she isn't proud of now. That's why emotional attachments to particular ideas, viewpoints, and arguments can be dangerous. They keep you from seeing things objectively.
I think this is a good thing for you to tackle. And I have no personal experiences to give, but I have seen many from other people. however, I know that's not what you're asking for, so I just wanted to message you and say that I support your attempt
Feminists never get tired of trying to save the name of feminism. Face it! There's only one type of feminism and it's dark. If you believe men and women should be treated fairly then you're a decent human being which is usually the opposite of a feminist.
Yeah just like there are different shades to the color black. There are those feminists who hate men and housewives, then there are those who hate men and trans-women and also the ones who hate men and straight sex.
No such thing as dark feminism. I'm still looking for some kind of indication that feminism even exist in today's day and age. Also, still waiting for that clarification I requested earlier.🖖
I stand corrected. There is such a thing as a dark feminist, and it just downloaded me. I wonder how many small animals this individual killed today to work up the courage to do that? That was a rhetorical question, down voter, so don't hurt yourself by trying to think of a response because I pretty sure I already know the answer.🙃
Some men are so pathetic they won't accept women been treated badly and still do get mistreated they want to act like children these men n still be treated good by women it's pathetic
Home > Society & Politics > Questions > I want to hear your personal experiences with dark feminism. And I want to know, do you think I need to get involved in this?

My girlfriends haven't given me grief over being a man actually, I acutely avoid users and freeloaders :) Some even offer to pay *FOR* me.
I have seen guys get divorce raped, one was homeless and a friend of my roommate whom I used to date. We took care of him for a short while.
I also don't think you *have* to do anything but encouraging others to follow a virtuous character while also doing so yourself is beneficial for others (and appreciated).
What do you mean by "divorce raped"?
@Vencam Bent over in divorce court my dude.
Wait, I thought feminism was about equality. And now you want to equate yourself with a sect of feminism (a movement already questioned by Second Wave Founders as going too far now) that actively supports hatred of men for female dominance?

Just what kind of logic is that?
From what I know of Amanda, I'm pretty sure she's taking a mile-high view of the whole situation, she's too thoughtful to fall in the feminazi camp :)

Thanks. You changed my mind about feminism completely.
Now I know what feminism is really about.
Cheers!
Sarcasm, I presume? (I would say yes for sure, but writing "cheers!" at the end is quite odd.)
Female chauvinism is everywhere. Most just don't see it for what it is because it's so normalized.
I agree with that.
But also, chauvinism is rampant/common. Neither gender has the monopoly on that.

It definitely is. The old "give em an inch and they'll take a mile". Humans are hardwired to seek advantage, not equality.
100%.

🎯 100%. 'Check yo'self', as they say. Always a good idea.

What you have described is sexism at work, plain and simple.
Are you referring to the pink link above? (The q from the girl, which I pasted in the body of my text?)
Yes.
Feminists never get tired of trying to save the name of feminism. Face it! There's only one type of feminism and it's dark. If you believe men and women should be treated fairly then you're a decent human being which is usually the opposite of a feminist.
I disagree. You can't eliminate the word feminism, and there are definitely more than one type/definition.
Yeah just like there are different shades to the color black. There are those feminists who hate men and housewives, then there are those who hate men and trans-women and also the ones who hate men and straight sex.

I really don't care if anyone hates everyone. As long as they treat people with respect. I do expect them to be a shitty person though.
I am not a dark feminist nor do I know any woman who is
Can we all just chill and get along? Lol
I sure hope so 💐
I interacted with girl here who is a dark feminist this morning. Hahaha
Uh oh. Shields up!
Well here's a virtual hug for you.
No personal experience with feminism. The women in my family nor the women I knew ever talked about not even in college.
Some men are so pathetic they won't accept women been treated badly and still do get mistreated they want to act like children these men n still be treated good by women it's pathetic
I really can't think of any...
