Why do Black Men flex their money?

Question

This is a phenomenon that I’ve noticed happening since 2012. Or maybe it’s always happened , just people didn’t have SmatPhones and Cameras to do it back then.

But why do Black Men or People of low income areas have to flex their money on camera?

You don’t see DONALD TRUMP pulling this little act on a camera and he’s a billionaire … so what’s the point.

I personally also wouldn’t have a bunch of paper dollar bills hanging out. All of my earrings are to be in the system.. anybody at all can steal your little dollar bills.
Dont you think that this behavior or act puts you in a negative light?

That it makes you look entitled and narcissistic and proud?

I don't know, I just don’t understand, help me understand.

Also side note; I’ve seen Hispanic Men and Black Men pull this behavior. But I’ve never seen a White Man pulling this little play unless he’s an ex-criminal …

(Also I don’t mean to cause an issue with this post, I just wish to understand the behavior)

As a black man, I have to say I  sort of  agree with you. It's always been a big thing in rap videos for black male artists to display money, and some project-type black men on social media like to display that too. Although, it's the same with project-type black women singers and people on social media as well. Blacks who grew up in the projects or the streets - not just around it but literally living their life in it - do have a deeply simple-minded obsession with cash, doing whatever they can to get it, and wanting to make a show of it. And they definitely like to display it if they got this money through criminal or dishonest means. So I would say in some sense your question is right, but it largely applies to black men with little or no education and who grew up in the streets.  However,  there definitely are white men who like bragging about all their money and success, they just don't literally show you their money in order to do that.

That is a myth. Most black men don't have money unless they're an athlete, A-list actor or rapper. Or Tyler Perry, if he even counts.

So stop judging us all by 50 Cent. We're not all 50 Cent. (I rarely even say "nigga," unlike him who does it every other word.) Also, Donald Trump has entire PENTHOUSES made of gold, so you're not exactly right about that, either.

Because they haven’t been taught or educated and were most likely raised by a single mom with no father and grew up in a poor neighborhood and bad education system with bad influences like terrible music talking about pussy, money, and weed. So when they do make money, they will follow the culture and flaunt it because that’s what they’ve been taught and that’s all they know. Most will lose all their money before they learn their lesson (Mike Tyson). Some handle their money very well (Dr Dre, Kanye, Floyd Mayweather, Jay Z).

I think it's a culture thing for people in some areas. They grow up feeling like they aren't worth anything unless they're "worth money". It's funny to see so many people attack you for this, and flat out deny it, when there are several black rappers and other black celebrities who have publicly spoken out about this problem.

Beccause for black people it is a way of showing their wealth and power. To show all the little nigglets that they are in the hood starving and they are living it big with the gang banging rap and hip hop shit they spew out that really does not help other than to persuade little nigglets that if they wana be like TJ HOBO rapper. When I see black people swinging around money like they do in RAP and hiphop video's I think about a monkey throwing his shit around.
