Let's say the person your fighting is roughly the same height and build, though isn't like a black belt in karate or anything. Just an average person plucked off the street
Do you think you could take them? :P
Easily. Without any sort of training, the average person of ANY size would have to get really lucky to beat me, even with a weapon. There are some who are natural fighting geniuses and I've come across a few, but often times their reflexes do not match their genius. I have both martial arts training and years of experience fighting people bigger than me, outnumbered me, armed and even a combination of all 3. Most people with less than 2 years of martial arts training are not going to get the better of me.
Without a weapon on my pocket? Maybe.
The problem is fights can easily maim you. You might win--hell you might Mortal Kombat rip them apart in gruesome fashion--but one blow can still knock teeth out, or fracture your eye socket, rip the skin off the cartilage in your ear... ugh.
I have a black belt in taekwondo and a brown belt in kickboxing, and I spar and win often against both girls and guys, so I would feel confident against anyone untrained as you described 🙋🏼โโ๏ธ although I would never assume the win and would treat anyone like they were a good fighter.
You sound like a total badass.
I'm sure I could beat you
@cassie_94: What inspired you to do both taekwon do and kickboxing? Are the sparring rules the same or different for TKD sparring and kickboxing sparring where you train?
@Karate_Guy I took up taekwondo at about 17 because I wanted to learn a martial art for self-defence mostly, and I loved it. Once I got my black belt I moved on to kickboxing, which is kind of similar. The classes are at different gyms - taekwondo had more strict rules, whereas this kickboxing class allows more strikes and is far less restrictive. I much prefer this kickboxing class because I feel it better trains people for โreal lifeโ situations.
@cassie_94: That's awesome! I'd love to chat more about that. Can you please DM me? (I tried sending you a message but says that you only accept messages from people you are following) Thanks! :-)
Yes, my sisters and I practice MMA.
The Shevchenko sisters are our idols :)
@laurieluvsit: That's awesome! How long have you been doing MMA for?
@Karate_Guy
Since kids, our dad got us into it.
@Karate_Guy
Yes, I am busy now but will try to remember for later.
@laurieluvsit Okay. Sounds good! ๐ Also, is that a photo of you and your sister?
@Karate_Guy
No, both are the Shevchenko's
@laurieluvsit Cool! They are very pretty (and look very strong!)

Yes! If you know how to fight, some average person won't be much of a threat. You might not even have to retaliate, they have no control over their movement or breathing, or their stance leaves them all exposed.
I think I would hold up well did a lot of fighting when I was younger I'm under no belief that I can take on the world but I know enough not to freeze up or swing like a madman
if we were about the same physically, then possibly. i took gymnastics for a few years so that might have helped, idrk though. ig it depends.
I bite, kick, scratch, pull hair, and anything else needed to win. So yes Iโve won fights before 😁
Maybe. If they were not pro boxers or martial arts guys. The few fights I was in i usually wore the other guy down.
I would hope so. I trained martial arts for 8 years.
I grew up wrestling with my older brothers. I think I could probably take a female of my size.
I can fight for the average street person. I've been in several physical fight before so I would bet on myself I can win.
If I land one good punch to his face I'm positive he's going down.
15, 20 years ago I would win most fights. I did win most fights. Today, I wouldn't even try.
I was trained in military hand to had combat. The problem is not winning, its not killing him... easier than you think.
Why that question? Some people almost never fought.
Exactly! So I'm interested in how they see themselves faring
I don't even SEE myself.
I studied martial arts indoors and outdoors for 11 years, I would hope I could!
i can beat guys bigger than me
use to wrestle with them when I was younger
I fight guys that are almost 7 feet tall
im just to old to be fighting
not a kid anymore
I have carried a firearm most of my adult life. I avoid all confrontations unless my life comes in danger.
I boxed for years and still practice, and I know how to throw kicks, elbows, and knees. But I wasn't taught professionaly how to do those tbf
Size usually determines nothing but the fighting skills, determination and desire to win.
I'm a Viking, what you think?
Yeah, only because I have formal training.
I am the master of my fate
Yes I can, I have a decent amount of training.
@Superwoman21: That's awesome! What kind of training do you have?
