Typical of the democrats. Tax the shit out of you then hand a fraction of it back, basically throwing scraps from their banquets as if we were their dogs
that's just a terrible waste of money. just reduce the taxation on gas to make the prices go down. "giving people money" causes inflation, which actually makes people poorer than they were before. cause if you give "everyone" 100 bucks to everyone out of "the governments pocket", you take 100 bucks out of everyones pockets, cause the government does not have money of it's own. it just redistributes the money of the people that they took through taxation... which is a pretty damn evil strategy. specially if you consider that there's no way that politicians "don't" know that losing 100 bucks hurts poor and low income households so much more than wealthy households.

And that $100 comes from where, exactly? Are they just going to start printing it? Increase taxes on everyone scraping by to own a house and car in the first place? Why even bother collecting taxes anymore when the whole government just completely ignores the budget anyway? $100 a month for gas ain't gonna do shi. Well not enough due to I'm about to be riding an hour away from home and some more minutes. So to fill up my little 2D car takes about $28 to keep it full to get to Point A. Point B... that's when i'm gonna be empty.
I get close to that by being a resident of Alaska. A republican state the first to pioneer a dividend from a state resource. Getting a flat check from Alaskan oil resources. Any Alaskan reading this now, dead line for the pfd is the end of the month fill out the form right now.
Also alaska is the highest cost to live. So free money absolutely works even $100 a month at a time for a republican state. That's what happens when people are just getting by.
Again, people fill cars 6 times a month so $600 - $100 = - $500 they are paying. So no, it won't help because Democrats inflation will lead to $100 more in food prices

Every $100 will probably add $300 to the national debt: $100 in gas, $100 in "the bureaucracy " to run it; $100 for the scams coming as a result.

Speaking of making shit up... in 2016 1.87 in February... in Oct of 2019 its was 2.72... when covid hit gas prices went down in 2020 due to over supply when OPEC didn't cut production. Moving further into 2020 gas prices started to raise again...

Even saying that, supply and demand curve would easily show why prices are rising. A fuel company wants to maintain profit when we transition to electric cars... kinda like simple math... A×B=C... ... and yet oil companies are having record profits... its called fucking you in the ass without lube.
Hand out $100 for like permeant financial harm. $100 won't go far but years from now we will likely still be talking about the good ole days when gas was only $2 or $3.
I like the idea of a Universal Basic Income eventually, but right now it is probably premature. Let's wait until robots really do start taking all the jobs.
