One thing that has been programmed into me from the US is "faggot". My high school friends called each other that all the time and I don't think it was considered offensive back then.

With the way we used it, it also didn't even seem related at all to homosexuality! For example, I could tell my friends how much I like a girl and how kind and mature she is, then they'd call me a "faggot". :-D

It's become a sort of instinct now when I want to tease a man, especially if I'm angry, to call him "faggot" since that's how my English-speaking friends did it while I was growing up. So I still tend to say "faggot" here and there instinctively, but sometimes I wonder if I should or not. Oh well, I do anyway.

Nope, but i do think this is why the older generation is so angry the younger generation has evolved.
