It makes me roll my eyes every time I hear phrases like "your people" and stuff. I see people going around thinking that having the same skin color somehow connects them but of course the minute they get past race, they often find that they're actually very different and the one that has an unpopular position in the so called "group" is picked on.
It's one of the most toxic and stupid things I've ever heard to deem someone who happens to have skin that looks similar to yours as somehow being connected to one another. I see people instead as individuals and judge according to one's actions rather than their race but people just keep pushing this retarded shit about acting like family due to skin color in a protest but then shooting at eachother over losing a card game later that night.
I see it as a very sad thing to view people by their race as that's the exact opposite message that MLK pushed for, and ironically these people accuse me of being racist. The definition of racism is the belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority over another.
So in other words, racism is the belief that race plays a very significant role in one's character and being a certain race makes one superior or inferior to someone not of that race. A logical mind would likely conclude that these people's beliefs that race is super important makes them racist, and that's sad to see. When will it stop?
It will stop when race baiters’ political power or income no longer depend on it. Think of race baiting as an industry or a campaign platform: if you get millions of dollars from making speeches or holding rallies convincing people they are oppressed, are you going to stop holding those rallies or finding increasingly desperate ways to convince people to get offended so they keep paying you to talk about it?
if you as an aspiring elected official have seen that for over a century your predecessors have been able to convince a group of people that happen to have race in common that you are going to save or liberate them from the oppression that your buddy the public speaker keeps holding rallies about, are you going to keep employing that consistently winning strategy? Also, since that strategy so consistently performs well with almost that entire group voting for you, how much incentive do you actually have to solve any of that group’s problems? Wouldn’t improving conditions for that race deprive them of permanent victim status and thus you of a dependable electorate and campaign workers? If anything, the politician in this example would be incentivized to make life worse for that minority group, or at least prevent them from using their talents and abilities to improve themselves because once they are no longer victims they don’t need a white savior, which is how the US Democrat party sees itself. Scratch a liberal and reveal a fascist, right? This disgusting heartbreaking hate crime is perpetrated by Democrats every election cycle against US minority voters.
The suffix, “-iism”, indicates that the word is the name of a philosophy or belief. That’s our first indicator that “racism” is not what we think. It’s the IDEA that there is this thing called “race.” Personally, the way my grandfather and father taught me, I reject the concept of race. I don’t believe in it. As I’ve said elsewhere, “People are people.” Now, ethnicity is a thing… culture. But it’s not tied to this idea of race. Take a little white baby with blue eyes and blonde hair and raise him in an African village along with all the other kids… he is white, but ethnically a member of the African tribe he was raised in. He will dress, talk, dance, and eat like his brothers and sisters. He will worship as they do, fight for what they do. Race is a meaningless concept we’ve heaped meaning onto. As a philosophy, it’s relatively modern. Medieval Europe had no concept of race, even though they knew about Africans and Mesopotamians (and yes, even Asians). People were people. Science tells us that we all have one common female ancestor and two common male ancestors (separated by centuries). All mythologies tell us we all come from common ancestors. It’s time to let go of tribalistic fear and suspicion and embrace our brothers and sisters.
I don't know even dating people have to know my race, if you have anything but white they aren't interested. I am a mixed kid so I hear stuff all the time and it is really just sad, for people to see a race rather then who you are as a person
I don't know. I especially struggled with this type of idea being biracial growing up. I see people of all sorts of racial phenotypes talking about "own kind", and "own people", in ways that come across as so divisive. It also makes me feel left out being mixed.
So I've found "my people" are people of all sorts of races who don't make something like race into such a big and divisive deal that they cannot see someone like me as potentially being "their people".
I always felt we have a major issue with "hero syndrome" in the last 20 years. Everyone wants to be MLK and Rosa Parks but don't know a thing about how tough it really was when they bravely did what they did for civil rights. We can't face the fact that there's a current slow trajectory and we could take advantage of this and progress beyond just race. I'm black, yes. But I care less about that than who I really am, my personality, my actions and who I influence for as long as I have breathe in me.
You know for all the crap people gave trump supporters about racism its funny. At trump rallies you had lots of not just different races but cultures as well. Its almost like people of all races and creeds love freedom and that brings us together. Juxtapose this with other politicians be they republican or democrat and it seems all they want is to take our freedom away. They tend to use division to get what they want done. Thats why in 2022 the best way forward for either party is to primary out all incumbents all of them. Only 1st term candidates in 2022
