Islamic terrorists were attacking schools in Israel... not anymore. Israelis stepped up their security.
We should do the same.00 Reply

This should repel potential shooters as he won't be safe there anymore. Nowadays such people are safe, because no one would defend against them

It's fucking idiotic. The right's answer to everything is "more guns!" They want to ban books, and increase guns! How does any sane person look at that, and not realize how stupid that is?
I have nothing against the 2nd amendment, but where does it end? Give teachers guns, and if it keeps happening, do we arm the students, next? Pretty soon, you won't be able to walk into a school without a fucking gun.
At a time when students should be thinking about their education, they'll essentially be walking into a prison, instead. Everyone but them will have a fucking gun, and that's supposed to make them feel safer? What the hell?
Plus, are they planning on increasing teachers' pay, too? I mean, if they're acting as educators, and bodyguards, then we should be paying them for both jobs, right? Try suggesting that, and watching these same morons flip their shit.
I just can't even believe that we're living in an "advanced" society, at this point. It's like a caraicature of one, now.00 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. As someone that has worked in schools for 12 years, supports the second amendment, and supports CCW permits, I think it is a bad idea for teachers to carry guns onto school grounds. MANY teachers are irresponsible. Some would leave the gun where kids could access it, leading to more deaths than school shootings have caused. From what I have seen while working in 3 different school districts over the years, at least 1/3 of teachers aren't logical, strategic, or consistent in their behavior.
Plus there are actually ways to harm people in school that could cause significantly more deaths without using guns than the shooters have caused, just luckily people don't realize it.10 Reply- +1 y
Teachers should have the right be armed. However, that wouldn't prevent mass shootings. Other than 1 or possibly two, all mass shooting are false flag operations; i. e., murders by government killers to condition the American public to support gun control. The teachers wouldn't be able to prevent trained government shooters. In every false flag mass shooting, they have a patsy to take the blame but most of the deadly shots are by other government thugs just like what happened with JFK and Robert Kennedy. Of course, since the government does the fake investigation, prevents any independent investigation, and controls the narrative, you never hear about those.
00 Reply 7.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It makes more sense to have administrators and resource officers armed than teachers.
-Teachers would need to be licensed to carry firearms and many would not want to (it's already hard to keep teachers for the long term)
-Students greatly outnumber teachers and could take a firearm away from the teacher
-There would be huge issues surrounding criminal and civil liability should a firearm be discharged by a teacher, something I can't imagine a teacher would want to risk or teachers' unions could get insured against, or school districts for that matter
-Securing the firearm properly could leave it unavailable in case of emergency and make it a potential target of theft
-Teachers already have to ensure classrooms are protected in an instant when the presence of an active shooter is announced- giving them something else to keep track of is not a good idea00 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Not a fan. A teacher is a teacher, not a trained armsman. Obviously, they would get training, but this training would be forced on plenty of people who do not feel comfortable wielding a gun and that is not a good thing at all. Like it's not the same when it's forced on someone rather than someone actively wanting to train and carry. There will be plenty of inept gun users if that happens. And let's be real, is a teacher with a gun really going to do anything? You may train them to use a gun but they're not going to be trained just like every security guard. And if they are, that's going to be a LOT of training. I just don't see that being a reasonable option.
Like are we now going to require that teachers can teach their subject, wield a gun, and proactively be able to shrug off their fear and combat a school shooter? That just isn't reasonable.00 Reply- Anonymous(30-35)+1 y
You could just have a few armed security guards to protect entry and exits. You don’t need to arm every teacher. But I would be ok with that as an option for teachers to go through rigorous training gun practice and safety protocols. What would happen is shooters would stop targeting schools and target other places like stores and malls with crowded people. These shooters don’t want to get in a gun fight. They want to cause as much harm as possible to unarmed innocent people. They want media attention and recognition good or bad. The media gives it to them and creates copycats.
00 Reply arming teachers is a stupid idea. what if a child got hold of that gun. would it be on the teacher at all times or locked away. if locked away would be useless as most shootings are by surprise and over quite quickly. also this would then put the teachers at more risk as they would have to try and apprehend mad people with automatic riffles and body armor.
just ban guns for goodness sake, thats all it takes.00 Reply- +1 y
might reduce some number killed when lucky.
requires high training and skills refresher and mental eval. what happens when have questionable teacher mental health?
what about crazy teachers... going off... new problem.
Once this is solved for schools, then other areas become targets. this isn't the end of sad and hopeless feelings in humanity.
didn't they already have resource officer? maybe not if small school.00 Reply - +1 y
If you only have one solution, which you keep parroting for every problem, regardless of its applicability, it's only going to be a matter of time before people stop taking you seriously. So it is with the gun nuts and their solution of "more guns".
It never dawns on them that if you think shouting "fire" in a crowded theater is a lesser offense than opening fire in a crowded theater, you're part of the problem.00 Reply u
+1 yas a tutor... I could never ever imagine a supervisor telling me
"oh yeah, here's your.45... if one of your pupils starts acting up... aim right between their eyes, and then keep shooting up till you're sure they're dead, better safe than sorry"
"best of luck and welcome to our school"00 Reply699 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. how about making the schools hard to get in to have two stages to get into the school zone and can only have access if you have an appointment having armed teachers means that if you go in to shoot students you take out the teacher first you need to stop the shooter access to the school have a guard check the doors all the time and have a fence around the school
00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. A school having armed security guards is a good idea. But if a teacher wants to carry, I wouldn't be opposed to it. So long as thy can pass a psych eval and are fully committed to practicing gun safety.
01 Reply11.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. How about better fucking funding for the schools instead? In fact schools should accept all those guns, and sell them so they can buy school supplies from it.
Why the hell is the American answer to every problem, "add more guns"?00 Reply318 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Arm the teachers... or at least have an all voluntary, licensed trained response force. Churches have them. Why not schools?
00 Reply19.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I think people will think twice about shooting up a school if there was the uncertainty of having armed teachers. The teachers need to be insured and they should get a stipend to do this.
00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Better be careful which teachers they allow to carry. There's a disproportionate number of very screwed up people teaching in public schools.
00 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. no thats a bad idea. I think we should start putting more thought into why it happens

Stupid idea.
A teachers job is already hard enough, so why burden them even more.00 Reply 2.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The teacher must be required to wear the arm at all times but I think it’s a good idea, so long as there are very strict measures to prevent kids from getting em

If more guns make for a safer country you would think the USA would already be the safest place on Earth with more guns than people. Sadly it's not so that logic does not hold true.

Yes, they absolutely should be armed. It's sad, but it's necessary in this day and age. Too many crazy people.
00 Reply 4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I think it's a good idea for teachers and staff that want to be armed, to be allowed to be armed.
