Very simple:

Hitler was a powerful, wealthy figure who was highly confident of his abilities. He was the King Alpha Male as far as Eva was concerned. The fact that his policies in Germany were murdering millions was irrelevant to her. Women are innately attracted to men in positions of control - it is a primal instinct for women. Ever wonder why so many women run off with the boss or some other guy in command? Why do good looking women go for the bad boy, alpha type even if he is not the best looking guy around? Where I work I have seen young women in their 20's get nervous around supervisors in their 60's. One supervisor who was about 63 and had a big, fat beer belly and was in need of some new cloths yet had several women go ga-ga over him. He is nothing special to look at but since he was in a position of power over them they were innately attracted to them.

Women as a whole don't really have much moral character when it is time to choose a guy- they are more concerned with his status and power- thus the reason why so many women will run off with criminals and charlatans - because many of these types are alpha guys.

Years ago, I was reading online about a guy who went to Antarctica and worked on one of the bases there for a while. He said "During the summer, when it got really warm, we'd go outside in shorts and T-shirts and play volleyball". And I thought "No you wouldn't. Sure, it's fifty degrees warmer than usual, but it's still thirty below zero; there are limits to human physiology!". A few days later, I was downtown (in Chicago), and I noticed that all the people I saw were walking past the buildings (Chicago is pretty much THE city for impressive skyscrapers), these fantastic works of engineering, one of which is so tall that it *sways in the wind* despite being made of steel and concrete, and not paying the least bit of attention to them. I thought that maybe you CAN get used to anything.

Evil is no different. Hannah Arendt talked about the "Banality of evil", and she wasn't wrong. It becomes just another thing in the background. Periodically, I poke into histories of various genocides (because my brain thinks life just isn't depressing enough, I guess), and try to figure out what makes people do such awful things. The Nazis at least distanced themselves from it; the rank-and-file of German citizenry probably knew that the undesirables were killed off, but not the extent of the machine-like efficiency with which it was done. Consult a map- all the death camps were in Poland.

Compare them to the Rwandans, who outpaced all the fancy Nazi machinery with peasants using machetes, or the Yugoslavians, who'd take neighbors- actual NEIGHBORS, who they'd been laughing and playing cards with mere days earlier- and slaughter them like pigs. It'd probably be a LOT harder to tie yourself to someone who'd been in charge of THOSE horrors, and fuck it I need to go look at pictures of puppies now.

In a crazy world overrun with lawless humanity, bad guys somehow get to do seemingly impossible things. With that general rule in place, Hitler finding a wife is not outside the realm of possibilities.

Same reason why most people went along with the Nazi party. As the Nazi party grew in power it silenced dissent. After a while you either supported the Nazi party or the Nazi party punished you.
I guess what I'm saying is was she may have genuinely loved him. But how much of that was learned indoctrination through Nazi ideology? I think it's important to note that Adolf Hitler was 23 years. Her senior. I'm sure for a young women that probably increased his stature.
