Average price for gas in the US is $5 per gallon, GasBuddy says.

California has the nation's most expensive gas, at $6.40 per gallon, followed by Nevada ($5.59) and Washington, Oregon and Alaska ($5.51), according to AAA.

In my area, gas is selling for $4.59 a gallon today (12 Jun 2022). That's with the state gas tax still suspended. If it wasn't suspended, it would be $5 a gallon.

It would be interesting to see gasoline (petrol) prices in countries other than the US.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County set a record Saturday for the 15th consecutive day, rising eight-tenths of a cent to $6.361, extending its streak of increases to 16 consecutive days.

The average price has risen 34.3 cents over the past 16 days, including 2.7 cents Friday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 14.2 cents higher than one week ago, 50.9 cents more than one month ago and $2.143 greater than one year ago.

The average price has risen $1.605 since Russia's invasion of Ukraine Feb. 24 "sent shock waves through the oil market that have kept oil costs elevated," said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager.

Crude oil costs account for slightly more than half of the pump price, according to the U. S. Energy Information Administration. The rest of the price includes the other components of gasoline, production costs, distribution costs, overhead costs for all involved in production, distribution and sales, taxes and carbon offset fees in California paid by the refineries.

The national average price rose 1.8 cents to $5.004, its 15th consecutive record and 19th in 20 days. It has increased 41.1 cents over the past 20 days, including 1.6 cents Friday.

The national average is 18.5 cents more than one week ago, 60 cents higher than one month ago and $1.927 greater than one year ago.

It's $4.65-4.95. The funny thing is that me and my girlfriend had a conversation about this like a year ago about the sharp rise in prices going from $2.12 all the way up to $3.48 and I told her back in Connecticut (where I moved from) that's the same price it was all the way back in 2016 and it wouldn't surprise me if it was $5 then.

She said "holy shit, I'd have a heart attack if it was $5 per gallon!" And well, now here we are. Biden trying to blame Putin when it was Biden that signed executive orders stopping people from getting leases so they can start drilling and stopped approving permits. All while only 3% of petroleum consumed in the US came from Russia in 2021. Yeah we all know this is Biden's fault

It's around £1.80 a litre last time I filled up. Probably close to £1.90 now. It's getting to the point where people are struggling to get to work

£1.83 per liter, cheaper than most but that was Sunday so who knows now... it's all about banning freedom of movement altogether

Make fuel prohibitally expensive, push people into electric only cars to then reveal the grid can't handle it so they are useless then but the government will issue a buy out for them, they just cut public transportation to oblivion and hey presto no freedom of movement, the lockdowns were a beta test for the BBB plan

I'm currently traveling in Europe. In Italy, it's about $1.95 - 2.05 Euros per liter which translates to $7.95 per gallon with the current conversion. It's higher in neighboring countries, about $8.95 a gallon.

Anyone in the US who thinks "it's Biden's fault" is an idiot. But if you bought Exxon in Oct. 2020, when it was $32 a share, you're swimming in money now at $93 a share. Guess who's making all the money during this world crisis, folks?
