not personally, but there are entire tribes of indigenous people in South America who have not invented clothing or writing yet. They have certain symbols they use in body art to mark different tribes an clans, but other than that, they have no writing yet. Everyone, man, woman, and child are naked 24/7 and 12 years old boys and girls play naked together and touch one another and stuff. They have the lowes tknown rate of rape and murder per capita in the world. So much for the modesty causes rape thing.

anyway, entire tribe of human beings has no reading and no writing.

yes... part of my earlier tutoring years were with adults and seniors that needed help to develop these skills later in life

our gardener, that's why we don't bother texting him when we need help around the house, we call him right away. it makes me sad that he wasn't given a chance to go to school or to learn how to read and write, at a young age he was already working for his family, and I guess it just never occurred to him that school is important as long as he can bring food on the table. No I can never imagine myself not being able to read or write.

I couldn't even stand being a TODDLER unable to read and write, and taught myself to read out of impatience. In the modern "everything's online" era, I don't know how people manage. I was actually briefly volunteering with an adult illiteracy program (they ended up moving, for various complicated reasons I don't really understand), so while I DID know some adults who couldn't read, I don't think I do anymore!

I had an addition built on my house and the guy that did the concrete work could not read. He was a good worker an seemed fairly intelligent but maybe he was dyslexic or something

Unless you have a mental defect, I don't know how you get through K-5 and not know how to read and write.
