I don’t believe they do believe in innocent until proven guilty. Conservatives are much more appreciative of local law enforcement and love the “tough on crime” approach. This manifests into the mindset “If you’re charged, you did it.” Prosecutors don’t care about innocence or guilt anymore, because the less prosecuted cases the more likely they get voted out. They convict innocence all the time. Plenty of innocent people get convicted at trial, or take plea deals because of the potential consequence if they lose trial.

I was falsely accused of rape myself, it touches very close to home. I did 18 months in jail, covid kept pushing my trial back. I was found completely innocent, no reimbursement or compensation. Jury consisted of 3 black people, 1 female two male, 5 hispanic, mix of male and female, and 4 white people, a couple younger couple older. Entire jury had to agree and they did. Most but not all minorities are liberal. White people couldve went either way.
