u Doesn't matter how many people would support it. The Supreme Court has said that the death penalty is a disproportionate punishment for crimes that don't involve the death of an innocent victim.
A definite no for several reasons. Firstly, rape is easy to allege and difficult to prove innocent so the risk of an unsafe conviction is too great.
Secondly and more importantly, although a horrendous crime, the sentence for rape must never be as severe as for murder.
Let us assume I'm a rapist. Especially with the advent of very specific DNA testing it is very hard to leave a "clean" crime scene, so what do I do?
I can release the victim and risk visual or scientific evidence. If the penalty is death, wouldn't it make more sense to murder the victim and burn the evidence? The penalty would be the same but a lower risk of being caught.
On the other hand, if the penalty was a prison sentence as compared to death, that would change the balance of risk for me. Would murder be worthwhile.
That is my reason for feeling strongly for differential sentencing. Rape should however attract heavier sentences than currently awarded.

If the victim was a CHILD then YES ABSOLUTELY!!! If anyone EVER messed with my kid like that, I WOULD be going to prison. If I don't kill them I would make sure to permanently disable them. 🥰 I'm by no means a violent person, but when it comes to child abuse, I will get violent. They permanently scar the child's heart and soul when such abuse occurs while the rapist gets to sleep easy at night. Why should a child rapist be allowed to live?

All jokes aside though it's disgusting what often happens to these people as children, male victims shouldn't be dismissed just because they're boys. However, that doesn't excuse their actions as an adult. I applaud those that are able to heal from their trauma and use it for advocacy for other victims. But for those that don't and who continue the cycle of abuse, need to be stopped in their tracks, permanently.
Or instead of stopping one rapist we put systems in place to stop all rape and do you only feel this way for male rapist because female rapist and pedos get much more lenient sentences most of them don’t go to jail at all no one threatens to kill them people only make rape synonymous with men and not women and it allow these sick rapist women to get away with it most of them completely get away with raping children
There was an episode of law and order svu with a 17 yr old boy who was going around brutally raping older women and the detectives didn’t like him very much until they realized that when he was a little boy his 16 year old babysitter used to rape him and make him have sex with her she didn’t go to jail there wasn’t a case nobody looked into it and at the end of the episode the boy went back to her apartment and brutally murdered her for ruining his life and his mother felt like a grade A POS because she didn't protect her little boy from a predator because she didn’t think that a woman would do that and that was actually one of my favorite episodes because people don’t talk about that but female l pedophiles don’t get the same treatment a lot of them get away with it
And that’s why I let people just talk and when I listen the rapist or pedo most people imagine or assume is male and it’s one of the worst and most vile double standards in society we really need to break this stigma that only men rape or molest children

No, there are too many false accusations and too many innocent men wrongfully convicted. Linked below is just one example of many. This poor guy served 40 years before being exonerated. He lost 40 years of his life, but at least he is still alive.

I don't really support the death penatly, having to live life in prison seems like a fate worse than death. I think I read somewhere that he was let out after 85 percent of his sentence was complete. I can't say I understand the whole early parole, good behavior releast stuff. That seems to defeat the purpose of sentencing.
Sentencing takes parole into consideration. A prisoner is more likely to behave rather if an early release is possible. If there is no parole there is no incentive to behave.
Hmmm... interesting that life in prison isn't viewed as punishment enough? Death is too easy for people like that. On the other hand, I'm all for "voluntary suicide" options for dudes like that, in case you don't like the death penalty.
Only under two circumstances.
1. It has to be proven to be rape with video and audio evidence. Prrof of intercourse is not proof of rape.
AND
2. The same penalty has to be applied to proven false accusers.

A prison sentence for sexual crimes, especially against children is no walk in the park. Statistics for tripping over, walking into doors, shutting fingers in doors and other more severe "accidents" etc prove it. Nonces are no more popular in prisons than out.

They should make it a law that if you kill someone and there is extreme evidence... you should get the death penalty. If someone no longer exists because you ended their existence; then you have no right to live.
no, I don't really support the death penalty. But I don't support letting pieces of crap roam the streets either. I'm more in favor of programs that provide opportunities for these people to make positive contributions to the communities which they harmed. Not pointless "hard labor", but things that make the community a better place.
I love the optimistic attitude but I feel like this would only work in a perfect world. As some people are too evil to contribute to society in a positive manner I have met a few. But again my respect to you for your optimism!
@NottaNatty well it wouldn't be "by choice" so much, as it would still be within the prison system. I just know there's a lot of things they could be useful in creating that would 100% make communities better, rather than just killing them for their crimes, or locking them up and "throwing away the key".

No, given the chaotic nature of court proceedings on rape cases. Who knows how many of them are actually innocent and you'd just up and kill them for doing nothing wrong.
If evidence were to come up of their innocence they deserve to be released if it was enough to overturn their conviction.

See that's the thing while rape is a brutal crime and lowlife scumbags who commit such crimes deserve to rot, I don't know if I'd personally say death penalty just for the fact that false rape allegations are probably a lot more common than murder, terrorism etc. As they may not be as cut and dry. but this is just speculation. Prison inmates apparently don't take kindly to rape and often get killed in prison anyway from what I understand, but again I've never been to prison.
