Thoughts on ex-trans teen suing doctors for performing a transition on her?

Ex-trans Cloe Cole is suing institution and doctors for surgerically removing her breasts when she was 15 years old and prescribing her puberty blockers, in order to adjust her body to perceived gender.

According to Cole's lawyers, doctors coerced her to undergo transition by lying that not doing so would put her at the risk of suicide.

Allow me to prefix with the fact: I only know what I research & see with my own eyes with ONE transgender person, who’s my friend!
I have mixed feelings about this. It’s important to note that one of my best friends is a trans woman, and because she was placed on androgen (male hormone) blockers, estrogen, progesterone and other female hormones, she is absolutely a woman and only a medical exam or a DNA test would reveal that she was born male! Also, she happens to be stunningly beautiful! I believe if done right, with years of psycho-therapy, a dual physician confirmed diagnosis of gender dysphoria, then it is extremely beneficial to the teen suffering with gender dysphoria to get puberty blockers, and after a few years of living full-time as the opposite sex, then I believe surgery is an appropriate option. But today anyone who merely says they are trans MUST immediately be treated as trans to the exclusion of all other possibilities! Some states will suspend the medical license of a physician who even suggests that something else may be the cause of the teen seeking Gender Affirming Care (GAC). That is NOT right! Doctors MUST feel safe to properly diagnose their patients, without pressure from powerful politically connected trans-rights groups! Was it right for MY friend? HELL YES! One look at her and nobody would say “nope that’s a man, & it was wrong to give her GAC!” But I’ve seen the HUGE increase in teens seeking GAC! Many clinics have gone from 7 in 1,000,000 teens seeking GAC to 18,000 in 1,000,000!!! I just cannot believe that is purely organic! Peer pressure, fear of rejection, social media, and group-think play a HUGE part in this, and sadly I can see a massive amt of detransitioning in the near future! This is mostly happening to girls, and w/o doctors having the ability to feel safe saying “Wait! b/c until you’ve had a year of therapy, and two psychiatrists sign off on this, we can not remove your breasts” it’ll happen a LOT more! IMHO

The case is: transsexualism exists and is a problem but many people who do not have this issue are pressured by rainbow activists to believe they do have. Which leads to cases like this.

Teenage years are a time when many people don't feel comfortable with their bodies, but it's scientifically proven that most of them stop having these issues after growing up. But rainbow activists push all of them to undergo transition and not only these that really have dysphoria.

Which I believe hinders transsexuals as it trivializes their problem

I call bullshit. While I'm opposed to this whole trans movement garbage, doctors didn't coerce her. Her parents are idiots for allowing this to happen. She was a minor and the surgery COULDN'T have taken place WITHOUT their consent. HER parents are responsible for allowing her to do this. Problem is she can't sue them for millions so she's blaming the doctors. Horseshit!!!

Actually, depending on where she lives, she may not have needed parental consent. States like California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, do not require parental consent for puberty blockers, speech therapy, and “top surgery” for females. Further, the majority (if not all, I didn’t have time to research every detail) of the states above do these medical and surgical interventions on Medicaid so there is no cost to the child, and parents are not allowed to me informed because of “patient confidentiality”.

Well if she is from California, it’s highly likely that her parents not only had NO say in the matter, they may not have even known about it, and even if they knew, they could not have stopped it, and in fact could have lost their parental “rights” if they interfered with her transition in any way! California just became a “sanctuary state” for runaway trans teens! The state will even pay for the hormone blockers, the opposite sex hormones, AND the surgery for any child over (i believe) 13! I wouldn’t be TOO quick to blame the parents in this case. I’ve seen plenty of documentaries where a child of divorced parents says they’re trans, and the father lost ALL rights including visitation for trying to stop the transition!

@CrazyGirl2 Absolutely NOT true. Her parents KNEW. The lawsuit, Chloe Cole v. Kaiser Permanente, claims:

"Chloe and her parents were not informed of the option for psychiatric treatment or an approach that attempted to treat the underlying psychological conditions to bring about a mental state congruent with Chloe’s biological sex."

Notice the "AND HER PARENTS" part. Doctor's shouldn't be sued over parental stupidity.

No state should allow surgeries to be performed without parental consent (outside of emergencies) but that's not relevant here

My only question is did the doctors really coerce her or if she just regretted it. Regardless I don’t support transitioning kids under the age of 18 but if she really was coerced into getting surgery then those doctors should be locked up
