Of course men and women can be friends. From work colleagues that have turned into friends, neighbours that I’m friends with an socialize with to those I have had since university and previous jobs. It’s very possible to keep it in your pants you know 😉

In general, men and women can be friends.
The argument to the contrary seems to me to be a strong indicator that a person is into incest. It’s easy for men and women to be only friends if there’s no physical attraction. Also, if you must try to screw everyone you are attracted to, then you must be trying to screw your attractive relatives. No? Then there are obviously ways men and women can have relationships with people of the opposite sex without sexual implications.

I've had friends when younger who simply saw "any" female as a "target" for bedding. Yet they would not have incest regardless. As they grow older hormones cool off (a little) and they can be a little less amorous.

Well, we’ll have to agree to disagree then, but it’s not difficult or impossible to believe. Incest happens; this is a fact not subject to “belief”. It’s difficult or impossible to accept generally because we know the mental and physical consequences of incest. More so with our own family and friends because we don’t typically want to believe people we care about are capable of something so objectionable.
The points i’ve made combined with the fact that i have female friends, some of whom have been a part of my life for decades, are the reason i’m convinced that men and women can be friends.
It’s perfectly understandable that someone with different life experiences might feel differently even if they thought about it similarly.

Men and women can be friends, one of my best friends in high school was male (and yes, straight!). I have no idea why you would think that men and women cannot be friends? Every woman knows if a guy is romantically interested in her, you just have to make sure they are not interested in you, and you are not romantically interested in them!
