Do you think money can buy happiness?

Money is a tool. If you use it correctly, it can absolutely have an impact on your finding happiness. But it doesn't necessarily increase our happiness in the ways you might expect it to.

More money isn't going to improve your mindset, and buying more stuff won't really bring you more joy.

Money is unlikely to buy happiness, but it may help you achieve happiness to an extent.

No, it can make things much easier, like a lubricant in the game of life. If pieces are missing like companionship, feeling fulfillment, friendship, community, you name it, how much you lubricate the cogs doesn't work if they're missing from the machine.

That's how I look at it at least. I've never been rich before, but solidly in the like upper middle class though. Each time I was working too much, and it made me unhappy, so I gave up more money to get my life back together with more in savings.

If you're truly rich, I have no idea personally if that quantity can bring a qualitative change, that's a point I've never been at, but have seen others there and it didn't seem to do so.

Nope. It can provide relief from some stresses in life, but it won't have much of an impact on long term happiness in a meaningful capacity.

In the short term and especially if you don't have much, yes. So long as I have enough money to get by, my happiness is driven by experiences. I would aim for contented over happy as a state of being.

Absolutely. Money, when used properly, can remove aspects of one’s life that cause stress and leave room for doing what you want to do rather than what you have to do.

I went on a date with a guy who had a lot of money. I was working a minimum wage job at the time. The way he treated the staff at the restuarant - he wasn't mean but arrogant. He definetly wasn't mean but the way he talked I felt poor even though I had a nice but small apartment and owned my own car. I've never felt worse about myself after a date. He texted me a few times after our date. I replied and told him nicely I wasn't interested in going out.
