It is hypocritical to be against Russia and Ukraine but date a woman from those countries?

Our political movement is critical of both countries and tries to prevent them to claim interests in our jurisdiction - although many of our opponents and both the Russians and Ukrainians accuse us of discrimination and Slavophobia (funny they suddenly started sticking together when we started saying no to their chicanery) - but this is false, as we are against their governments, not the people.

However, an advisor of our movement has gotten into a relationship with a woman from Russia, and while I didn't care much, other people reacted badly - opponents call him hypocritical, party members say he's bedding with the enemy and call for disciplinary committee.

I wouldn't know how to proceed in this case. I sent him an email suggesting he step down temporarily, but he didn't reply to me and even phone calls went unanswered. I feel this is the only alternative to a disciplinary committee - I was part of the one that asked for the resignation of the three Ukrainian and five Russian members of our organization, and it wasn't nice - the local press called that our "Night of the Long Knives", and we lost a lot of political support.

He tendered his resignation from the list and it was not accepted.
First he has to answer to the breach of trust and will follow with a disciplinary committee, probably resulting in expulsion.
