On a good day , a complete and utter overreaction that killed way more people than it saved , sent the world into spiralling inflation , injected steroids into interest rates , and destroyed small business , we had a man here die bcoz he could not get back to Sweden , now these are the complete FACTS , and this is looking at the positive.

On the negative , it was created with a far greater agenda , beginning with future superpowers. And this is before we even begin the talk about " vaccination " hmm , yeah right.

I give to you to research , Daniel Andrews , Victoria Australia , the man is a unionist criminal , who got his rocks off , locking people up , under the guise of " Common Good " . Now its very clear this utter utter bs , must never be allowed to happen again

For the record , I'm not anti - vax , but nothing should ever be mandatory , I respect their decision to choose.
What was such an obvious , massive , overreaction was closing boarders , destruction of business , causing much of the drama we have now , there is NO free lunch. The State must never try and enforce such power again.

I didn't fall for it the first time, but that was because I had firsthand experience of what it actually looks like when a chemical or biological threat is being taken seriously. Some people in charge could be given benefit of the doubt for having knee-jerk reactions and just doing what they were "advised" early on, but ultimately this is going to just be yet another scandal that 99.6% of people who should rot in prison for corruption and other crimes will face zero repercussions, and some of those same people will make news appearances whining about why trust in the government is at an all time low.

No. On reflection covid19 was worse than we initially thought and the reaction we had is objectively not enough since we still have covid19 around.

I think I have to restate this because it does not appear that everyone in the class has been paying attention: We failed.

If we had "overreacted" then we would have overachieved and been able to eradicate the disease. We did not. Whatever we did, whatever our reaction was, it was not enough. Those are "complete FACTS" as you said it.

on the contrary my confused friend. We have plenty of academic data on the effects of every effort both good and bad during this pandemic which for example demonstrates the huge success of vaccination. The problem is that vaccination has a few requirements to bring results. One of which is that the better a disease is at spreading the larger percent of a population you need to vaccinate to stop it completely. Covid19 is one of the most easily spread diseases in human history so we had to respond with the best vaccination coverage in human history to overcome this obstacle.

We did not manage to convince idiots like you to get their vaccine however so covid19 beat us and we failed. Good job.

The Swedish response to Covid19 was a disaster however this was partially because there was a legal issue that prevented the government from taking the necessary steps. Either way, I will enjoy my Scandinavian freedoms to the fullest thank you very much.

I dont care if you are anti-vax or whatever. It makes no difference in this situation, there are situations where everyone has to cooperate or humanity actually risks extinction as a species. Having close to 100% of humans become vaccinated would be one of those times that this cooperation has to happen. Allowing people to not vaccinate in such a situation is the same as dooming everyone else, there is no room for compromise in a hypothetical scenario like this.

You are either in favor of dooming humanity in the pursuit of "Freedom" or you are in favor of saving humanity. We were lucky with covid19 that even when we completely and utterly failed the consequences of that failure was only that millions upon millions of people died and will continue to die. We could have been more unlucky and had something like the black death in which case we might be looking at the collapse of human society today and that is by far not the worst thing that could theoretically happen.

What you appear to completely miss is that there is actual power in "overreacting". If we had actually overreacted then covid19 would have been eradicated. It is not magical, we can kill it. We know how to become perfectly safe from it and we can safely keep it and handle it in labs without realistic risk of infecting ourselves. But to kill it, and to kill literally every virus, parasite and bacteria ever infecting humans we need to "overreact". 100% self quarantine for a few weeks would do it for example. Eliminate all these sicknesses all around the world at the same time and all it would cost you is a month or so of your time.

But you dont care about this. You are the problem in this society, the weak link that can at any moment doom us all.

I knew this was a scam with a ”hidden” agenda all along (not hidden at all if you possess even the tiniest bit of critical thinking skills) and continued to live life as normal. We were in uncharted territory. Mistakes were made. I think the vaccine mandates were a mistake. Americans do not like to be pushed around. Civil disobedience is in our DNA. Instead the public should have been told the truth that maybe the vaccine was not 100% effective and let people do what they thought was best for them. As soon as I got the vaccine I assumed that I was all set and therefore no mors wearing masks and I was ready to go back to work. I urged my employer to open back up that the pandemic was over. They chose to stay closed for another year.
