White and Asian people have been victims of systemic racism for the last 60 years from Affirmative Action laws. Should they be paid reparations?

If black people are entitled to "reparations," even though not a single one of them living today was ever a slave and not a single person who will have to pay for it had anything to do with slavery since it ended 158 years ago, why aren't white and Asian people, who ARE alive today and actually did suffer through systemic racism themselves at the hands of others who are also still alive today, entitled to reparations for the suffering they went through from the racist Affirmative Action laws over the last 60 years?

"Affirmative Action" is in fact unconstitutional (now confirmed by the Supreme Court) "systemic" discrimination against whites and Asians because it is the result of laws enacted by the government. It doesn't get any more systemic than that.

If you are arguing that NO ONE is entitled to compensation for what happened to OTHER PEOPLE and not them, then I agree with you. No one is entitled to compensation for something that didn't even happen to them.

I mean I don't consider myself a victim of systematic racism though? Like yeah I'm not eligible for race-based scholarships or whatever, but those scholarships were made for those people to begin with and simply wouldn't exist if not to solve that specific issue. The money was never going to be mine. 🤷‍♀️ I have more of an issue with hiring/acceptance quotas etc because I don't think they're entirely realistic sometimes, but honestly I don't care that much.

I do believe they should unfortunately it won't happen though because people don't believe white people and Asians ever suffered. I have heard stories about how white women had their kids stolen from them just because they were a single mother and not married. Yet hardly anyone ever acknowledges it.

Agree. Show me people whose ancestors weren't persecuted. It doesn't exist. My ancestors were slaves for 400 years and probably the most persecuted people in history. I don't hold ANYONE alive today responsible for the sins of the past because we are each born with a clean slate.

I was denied financial aid to go to college. I should be compensated for the ten years I had to work a crapoy low wage job. They should throw in another 5 million for the suffering t oo.

My company screwed me out of career opportunities for women and minorities. I explicitly denied access to an internal management program as it was for women only now. There are real finical damages from that as the program led to prime job placement in the company.

A class action lawsuit should be filed against the company for discrimination based on gender and race which is illegal. This has happened to probably millions of people over the years.

I know someone who is actively seeking an age discrimination suit. I will be a witness as I was his manager and heard how my boss wanted to oust people over 60.

Perhaps with the Supreme Court ruling on Affirmative Action there will be call action lawsuits happening. I was given very nice packages that may he at risk if I join a lawsuit. I will have to see.

The purpose of my post was to point out the absurdity of the concept of "reparations." I don't believe anyone owes anyone else for sins that they had absolutely nothing to do with. To say that individuals born today bear ANY responsibility for slavery in America that ended 158 years ago is not only absurd, it is immoral. I am sick and tired of being attacked for something that has nothing to do with me. My ancestors weren't even in America when there was still slavery here. And when they arrived here they kissed the ground because they loved this country so much. My message to the people who are constantly bashing this country is to shut up or go live somewhere else. But they won't because they know that they have it better here than they would anywhere else in the world. They are just chronic whiners.
