Seriously. I'm not American - from Europe - so it always puzzles me

Why western ------ or to be more specifically white English speaking American & English women -------- predominantly think they're not equal.

You can vote, can work, can attend higher education, can own property, etc all on your own. You don't need a father, brother, husband or some other male relative giving you permission or allowing you to do this even these simple things as in some countries.

You are not forced to travel to an entirely different country or to undergo backroom dangerous god-knows-if-it'll work operations - like Irish women - for an abortion.

You are not discriminated against because of your skin or language - like minorities, immigrants or other Europeans. Even in UK speaking Gaelic, Welsh or Scots is a problem.

So WHY are you unequal?
You have more rights, privileges and opportunities than 98% of women in MANY countries can even dream about. In some African & Asiatic countries girls - particularly in the small villages - are not allowed to even attend the most basic schooling.

So WHY are you unequal?
Is it because you're "not paid same"? Statistically men pursue more training (not just education) than women, meaning they EARN their extra money. If a woman has more experience / certificates than men in a position guess what - she often earns more.

So WHY are you unequal?

Honestly. It is the question of the century. WHY do western - specifically white English speaking American & English women - think they are unequal.

I am pointing out these people not just because they are the LEAST unequal to men but because they are the loudest mouthed about it AND the most prone to act in unsavory ways

Those Western women are looking for equal opportunities with Western men directly in their own countries. It is no consolation to them that women in many other countries are worse off.

Personally, I find that in education we have come a long way and in my college there was almost equality between girls and boys. Even on the job it is initially not so bad. The whole situation deteriorates only as soon as the woman gives birth to two children or more. At that point things typically fall apart, with the notable exception of good jobs in Scandinavian countries.

You're comparing apples and Clydesdales here- women don't think they're not equal to women in other countries, but to men in their own. And to be fair, they're not wrong- they aren't. The catch is, they've got it backwards: they have MORE rights than men do. Why the deception? Because they've been duped themselves: a lifetime of being told that they're oppressed victims, coupled with a zeitgeist that discourages personal reflection, has many of them genuinely believing what five minutes of clear thought would show to be incorrect. Since society has made victimhood a source of social status, there's VERY little incentive to say otherwise.

I don't think it's a case of us not being legally equal it's more a case of changing the mindset of men who are against women.

For example.
If I go for a job interview I have the same legal rights as men, I should be treated the same during the application process and there's policies in place which are supposed to ensure that. But if the guy interviewing thinks women should be at home ironing and raising babies I won't stand a chance even if I'm the best candidate.

Because it's a crutch for most women. They have been brainwashed from the time they are little girls to believe they are disadvantaged and men are privileged, that they are the oppressed and men are their oppressors. As a result, they blame "sexism" for any adversity they face in their lives.

Any time they don't get the job they applied for, they blame it on sexism.

Any time someone doesn't respect them, they blame it on sexism.

Any time they get a speeding ticket and the cop was male, they blame it on sexism.

Men don't have the luxury of blaming all their shortcomings and failures on the opposite sex. Unlike women, men have to face the reality that they have failed due to their own shortcomings.
