Why would someone call me an incel for advising a friend of mine to protect him self from false accusations in the work place?

So here is the story. A friend of mine was accused of sexual harassment at his work. the accuser went to HR and made her accusation, cried, gave a sob story. Here is the rub though. The times and dates dont match for when he was in the office. They match for when he was nearly 3000 miles away on a client site, Additionally they dont associate outside of work, and in the office interaction is rare because they are in different departments. Regardless, because vagina, he lost his job. I advised him that there really was nothing he could do beyond law suite. I also advised him that he should record all interactions with said woman in the future if this does get cleared up, he needs to protect him self.

Well another person overheard our conversation and suggested rather loudly that i was an incel and so was he, for even suggesting that he should protect him self.

Did they call you this for just telling him to protect himself or was there something else in the conversation that might've made them call you that?

If he was wrongfully accused then he absolutely needs to fight this but if in y'all's conversation the other person heard negative things that were being directed towards all women in general. Then that might've inspired the incel comment.

Or the other person could've had just made a wrong assumption about both of you, which happens a lot with people. They might've immediately jumped to name calling instead of getting the full story.

We don't have the full story so it's hard for any of us on here to know. We are only getting one side of the conversation with very little context to that conversation.

If he is being wrongfully accused he should absolutely do what he needs to do to fight it though.

Sociopaths and people with narcissistic personality disorder are in both genders.
It is important to remember though that it's definitely a minority. So saying all women or all men should never be done.

Just like the other person shouldn't have just assumed you two were incels or misogynistic if you didn't say anything that was.

He didn't get fired because vagina. For some reasons they picked her over your friend. Maybe she gets along with the team more or something, they just went with what was the more convenient for them. a lot of women get fired after reporting actual sexual assault or harassment in their workplace. They really just keep who is more convenient to keep, they don't give a shit if the assault is real or not. This person probably knows that when accusations come up gender doesn't make the call of who gets fired so that's why you came off as incelish to them

And for the record, a similar thing happened to me at a company I worked for, they were going to fire me, but I recorded all interactions I hsd with my accuser, including the one where I rejected her advances because I'm married, I played them all and the company fired her for the false accusations. You can believe as you wish, but until you've been on the other side of the accusation you have no room to talk..
