It appears some sharks may be more social, more like dogs. Why not adopt a shark and make it your own?

There's an ongoing experiment with domestication of fox that's over a hundred years old now. The whole thing is how wolfs was able to be demonstrated and why not foxes in the stoneage but are both canine.
There is a lot going on with DNA and ways to manipulate them. That takes hundreds of years to play with. At the same time a good starting point to begin the process is needed to be domestic vs habituation of an animal. So a proper domestic fox will never be a real thing.
When I was a kid we kept a pet sand shark in the cove. We pushed a hole trough his dorsal fin and tied dogfish line through it. We anchored him out in the cove far enough so that he would be okay at low tide. We fed him every day with fish and leftovers. He really liked hamburgers. We kept him for a couple of weeks and then released him and never saw him again.
Never heard such a story... how big a shark and type? likes hamburger... haha. like most any animal, once fed, am surprised didn't stay around waiting for what's next. Shark is lucky they didn't get eaten in that time.
A sharks are a primitive fish that lived already as our ancestors looked like lizards. I wouldn't compare mental capacity of a shark with a dog because it's difference of many levels and hundreds millions of years brain development. A shark can be peaceful if its belly is full but it changes when its hungry.
The old term for shark was sea dogs which is why you get so many doggy terms related to sharks. We know that sharks learn they can get free food from divers so to a certain extent they've become pets.

No other animals on land harms more people than dogs. Sharks would be even worse.
