When it comes to being anonymous, whether it is on this website or in real life around individuals, you don't know, it certainly makes expressing yourself or doing any sort of action simpler. I haven't posted anonymously here. However, no one knows my actual identity, so it is easier to answer some questions masked behind a user name.
When you were out in the world, there is a freedom to be as goofy as you want to be without embarrassing, your family or friends, because you are just another dot on this earth and it's easy to let bystander's judgments roll off your back (for instance, when I am out on one of my bikes, alone, dressed in Lycra/spandex, I don't really care what the passerby's think. if I arrive home and we have company, my kids shake their head, and my wife rolls, her eyes at the sight of "dad in spandex".)

The quote is almost truth but nah people still lie even when given a mask. In fact people will lie because they have that anonymity to the point no one can point out if they are lying.
Here's an obvious example, I could claim to be rich and you can't disprove that. Or a big example is catfishs.
So sure I could say I am my truest self online but I could be lying right?
I would for sure say I am a open book to people I trust and online cause it can't really come back to me. And that I like been true to myself but life and people force you to keep thoughts and filter stuff.
No I disagree. Your real true self is usually met with a lot of social barriers and very few people are actually as aggressive natured in real life as they are on social media because they know there is real life consequences to aggressive mannerisms in real life.
That is always the true self ,
that is why anonymous talk dirty and bad.
