I feel the woke culture is getting out of hand when i'm afraid to state an opinion without being attacked there's no room for discussion anymore because people will call me a Trump supporter or a right winger when i'm really far left leaning and from Europe i live in Sweden we're super liberal i vote for VĂ€nsterpartiet the most left leaning parti there is but i hate that you can't have an opinion on anything anymore no matter the subject without people getting upset,
I still have what I consider to be 60s-70s liberal values - things like peace, love, open-mindedness, tolerance, support for fairness and justice, love of liberty and freedom, distrust of authority, and anti-war.
I supported and even marched for the civil right movement. I supported women's lib. I supported gay marriage. A lot of progress was made in those areas over the past 50 years.
But liberalism went off the rails. It was co-opted by subversives led by global elites whose agenda is anything but liberal. They actually want to create chaos in order to usher in "the Great Reset/New World Order". The tactics are similar those used by the Bolsheviks in eastern Europe in the early 20th century.
It's a crack up that the Democratic party in the U. S. claims to support liberalism.
Then "woke culture" came along. They act like everyone but "whites" are oppressed. The 1619 Project, Critical Race Theory, "don't be so white", white privilege, ...
I 100% support teaching truthful, factual, balanced history, but not one-sided, historical revisionist propaganda.
Certain women's lib activists became hateful and militant. LGBTQ activism turned from efforts to gain acceptance into something that is a danger to women, children and society.
They call for open borders and destruction of ancient, homogeneous nationalities and cultures in Europe.
They support political correctness, censorship and authoritarianism.
They are self-righteous, hostile toward the beliefs and feelings of others, and create divisiveness.
Those are some of my thoughts on "wokeness".

Honestly, I was having the same thought a few moments ago. Britain has introduced a whole raft of legislation that effectively can make it illegal to have an opinion of your own, subject to the highly subjective interpretation of the law. We're not that much better than the states we condemn as being authoritarian.
Maybe you should consider your voting choices going forward. Cause if even a leftie is scared to speak their mind, then that says it all.
I think it is a dangerous direction of society. At my heart I am a libertarian. I think the government 'trying to make people safe' is done so by being a danger to people who just want to be able to speak their mind. The 'benevolent' government don't care who gets brutalised in trying to enact this. Really it just sows the seeds of confusion and perturbation since a bit like the ever growing raft of nonsensical rules during the 'pandemic' it is never possible to know whether what you are doing is acceptable or going to offend someone. It introduced a kind of self -censorship and perpetual state of pertubation in the individual.
