What DO you know of other cultures - their beliefs, their ideologies, their religious ideas, etc?

I am very curious. I mean there's an erroneous belief in the west that Japan, as example, is not religious country whereas reality is many Japanese are very religious - more so probably than most westerners nowadays - just they're just not groveling for forgiveness or whatever else in a church or to one 'god' as Japanese ideology & practices are quite different.

So what DOO the people of GAG know of others. And by that I don't mean just religion but cuisine, ideology, customs, etc. as found among other cultures outside of your home country.
