Why are americans treating this eclipse as some kind of second coming of Jesus?

I was watching some American TV channels and people described the solar eclipse somewhat as a second coming of Jesus.
The descriptions are like, " a soulful experience", "universal harmony", " connected with each other", and" getting liberated".
Even though it's rare to see such events and they are awesome visual experiences, the science behind it is pretty simple and has been there for centuries by now.
It should have been naturalized among people. Guessing people as a whole don't change much even after centuries apart, miles away.

It's weird the moon can perfectly fit the sun with all the variables being random. Size and distance of earth of the moon it being close perfect eclipses the sun with its size and distances to earth.

It also happens 4 times a year and a perfect eclipses happens every 18 months. It's NOT that special of an occasion. Most of them happens over the ocean 70% of the planet.

Ow the actual question. Um they desperately need a second coming of Jesus to wash away their sins. They know they do evil things but need reassurance they aren't and be taken away.

gilbert is still good there but without roseann people lost interest so NOW abc is using the eclipse to attract ratings.
