Why does google and other search show a false concensus?

first the fact from a study in 2020

but if you search for sahara desert shrinking or sahel shrink, it will IGNORE your search terms and show you 7/10 results sahara "growing" which is false as we see in the hard to find study! or it used the word shrinking... sahara grow and something else shrink!

if i just show a sceeenshot of 7 "desert grow" people will say "you remember wrong and no such thing" so i gotta start with the screenshot.

i dare you! search for sahel shrink or sahara shrink.

it will show, even for "sahel shrink" the opposite: sahara grow! or many climate change or sahel crisis or conflict... even to ignore search terms!

but why is google trying and succeeding to fool you and everyone?

When I try to find something that Google is hiding, I switch to DuckDuckGo and find it. Congress needs to break up these Internet giants.

duckduckgo does the search on google instead of you... same google results, just google doesn't know which user.
