Iran retaliated on Israel’s strike on their embassy in Syria. Your thoughts?

I supported Israel’s military response (INITIALLY) after the terrorist attack on October 7th of last year.


But overtime I began to see the type of strategic military operations they were conducting and it made me seriously question their tactics…


Your enemy has hostages, and you’re bombing everything into oblivion…. Makes no sense at all. That sole fact alone discredits any validity and logic to the IDF’s military operations.


That being said I have two things.


1. I have to give credit where credit is due, Iran has been pretty patient with Israel as the whole world has been watching what the IDF has been doing… more and more people are agreeing that they’re taking it a bit too far.


2. Throughout history the middle east has had countless wars and conflicts honestly due to different religious cultures (Jews, Muslims, Arabs) this type of barbarism needs to stop now. I’m on the side of peace. I’m not gonna take any side. Both sides are complicit in killing innocent people. If I was the president I would make it crystal clear to every single nation in the middle east “if you cannot find common ground, make amends and ultimately find peace… I will make it happen… by any means necessary”


We aren’t Neanderthals anymore… these countries need to start acting like it.

Jews and Christians thrived in the region for hundreds of years in harmony. Conflict didn't begin in the region until after WWI, when the European colonial powers divided it among themselves.

Even before the war was over, Britain agreed to establish a Jewish colonial state in Palestine and presented Rothschild with the Balfour Agreement in exchange for assistance in winning the war.

Over the next 30 years, the Palestinians were never consulted.

Palestine had been a bucolic region that was thriving, modernizing and westerninzing with seaports, beaches, and modern cities. Muslims, Christians and Jews had their places of worship, holy sites, and lived together in harmony. It was a tourist destination.

Then Zionists began their campaign of ethnic cleansing. And it absolutely refused to allow an independent Palestinian state. Instead, it engaged in a campaign of brutal occupation. It also made war against neighboring countries, including Lebanon, Libya, Syria and Egypt.

It has been trying to get the U. S. to attack Iran for decades.

Iran had no option than to retaliate against Israel's unconscionable attack on its embassy in Damascus on April 1st. It sent a clear message that it will not put up with any more Israeli aggression.

Iran brilliantly demonstrated that it could hurt Israel badly if it wanted to. It was just a demonstration. And there's nothing that Israel can do to Iran other than cowardly assassinations and bombings.

Israel has thought it could act with impunity up until now because the U. S. was always there to veto UN sanctions, even after it cold-bloodedly attacked the USS Liberty.

It's like a sadistic school bully who has his big, older brother to defend him. But there is no way the U. S. will go to war with Iran. It couldn't win that fight. Plus, doing so would destabilize the entire region and cut off crucial oil supplies. And Russia and China aren't going to stand by if the U. S. attacks because Iran is a valuable ally.

The best that Israel can hope for at this point is to get more arms supplies from the U. S. The U. S. supplied arms to Ukraine, too, for all the good it did them.

I'm sure that Israel is seething from the humiliation. But it will have to beat someone else up to prove to its people that its not an impotent bitch. Hell, Israel can't even beat Hamas. All it is capable of doing is murdering thousands of innocent women and children.

I was laughing at videos of Israelis running around in total panic and crowding the airports. These are the same people who boldly pick on Arabs when IDF soldiers are there to protect them, who block aid trucks to Gaza, and who celebrate the bombing of entire neighborhoods full of women and children.

Israel's reputation is dead. The only people who don't hate it are Jewish and Christian Zionists. But not all Jews and Christians are blood thirsty ass holes.

Just like apartheid South Africa, I think it's survival is doomed, thanks in no small part to Iran's action yesterday, but also due to increasingly public pressure.

Neanderthals? You mean those people who had not only more musculature than us, but bigger brains? The problem is that for decades, Israel tried the patient and peaceful approach- and it failed, time and again and again and again.

Their strategy makes perfect sense- you just need to remember this isn't a "traditional" war against a "traditional" enemy. The Palestinian government, and increasingly, the Palestinian people, have made it abundantly clear that they're unwilling to accept any form of peace that doesn't involve the destruction of the state of Israel. This isn't like the Falklands War, where the UK let wounded national pride get in the way of humanitarian concerns; this is life-and-death survival.

Yes, Israel is stronger, richer, and more powerful than Palestine. That doesn't mean they should allow their neighbors to slaughter their civilian population with impunity. The current Israeli strategy is based around showing the Palestinian people what war actually IS; not the shiny happy "valor and glory" nonsense we've all been exposed to all our lives, but the misery, privation, suffering, death, and constant terror that it really is. I'm not pleased at the idea of peace through fear, but at this point, Israel's only option is this or genocide.

See, in the recorded history of the world, there have only been three or four wars that were actually about religion or culture. They're about resources, land, independence, power, and sometimes, survival. That something is used to sell the population on a war doesn't mean it's the cause of that war.

I don’t care. I didn’t care in the beginning and I don’t care now. Basically the whole middle east seems to love war, including those two. Who am I to tell them what they should do with their own countries. If generation after generation, year after year, decade after decade, century after century they want to destroy their countries, live in fear and see their friends, family and people die then let them. They can bomb each other until the last grain of sand for all I care. As long as they don’t come here or drag my country into anything it’s non of my business. The world has tried to reason with these people since forever but they can’t be reasoned with. They want this and it seems to be in their nature. It’s in their blood. So it’s like trying to stop to wild animals from fighting - impossible as that’s what they do. Simple, dumb, agressive, stubborn. So leave them alone but make sure non of them gets out of the middle east because they’re the same no matter where they relocate to, causing huge issues around the world, and their children end up just like them no matter where they were born and raised, since like mentioned it’s in their dna.

I understand your point and agree. The problem is, is that for whatever reason we’re constantly dragged into these conflicts. Whether directly or indirectly by funding them with tax payer money

First of all it is VERY important to distinguish between the current war in Gaza and the strike on Irans Embassy as two entirely different things that are not really connected, because that is not how world leaders see it.

But yeah, the Iranian response to the attack on their embassy was not only expected but actually required. A country has a duty to protect its own and if you attack them directly like such they need to respond in kind. As for the actual response?

It was about as good for Israel as you could conceivably expect. Sort of like an olive-branch in the form of a drone which translates into "We do not want to escalate this into a conflict, just shut up and sit down for a moment and we will call this matter closed."

But yes, both Hamas and Iran has played Israel very well. Generally speaking the job of terrorist organizations like Hamas is to make the other side look bad by provoking them to overreact. Having Israel invade the Gaza strip and appear as the bad guys was literally the whole point behind Hamas taking all those hostages and antagonizing Israel and Israel fell right into their trap. Likewise Iran also made Israel look like both the bad guy and foolish by taking the higher ground after the embassy strike.

Thanks to all the mistakes Israel has done recently it is very possible we are witnessing the collapse of at least the current government as well as much of the global power that Israel used to have. This will not be a pretty chapter for Israel in the future history books to say the least.

The middle east is fine the US is the barbaric messed up one. And keep on destablising the middle east out of greed and the desire to rule over the world. The US isn't even allowing syrian refugees to go back to their country and keeps them as refugees because they dont want them to go back and fight for the regime. They r keeping them as hostages outside of their country and calling them refugees when they are soldiers escaping deployment.

If we are talking about Neanderthals the US is the one that has a lot of evolving to do being the only country in the world that threw nukes on human beings and invading every nation on earth and having a new war every decade like a lunatic

You need your fucking head examined. There were NO wars in the Middle East before Israel was created in 1945. Since then, Israel has been the problem, while claiming to be the "solution".

Israel has shown itself to be no better than apartheid South Africa, and we know how that ended.

Applying my military experience. Carpet bombing Gaza on a strategic level was by far the biggest mistake they made. They have the same military capabilities of most nato countries… send your guys in there with surveillance drones, recon the area. Gather intel. THEN send in your dudes on foot and go door to door.
