Soros has been a big backer of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton's presidential campaigns in the United States, as well as a major donor to the Democratic Party. He even tried to sabotage Brexit by donating a large quantity of money to the anti-Brexit campaign.

Black Wednesday
In September 1992, after the Black Wednesday disaster, Soros' image as a ruthless and famous trader was confirmed. By stating that the pound was overpriced versus the Deutschmark, he led Britain to lose about 5.5 billion dollars and forced the pound out of the European currency rate system. As a result of his accomplishments, he was labelled "the man who ruined the bank of England."

Economy

He began his career as an investment banker in London, and in 1956, he relocated to the United States, where he formed the Quantum fund after a few years. The fund was known for its risky investing practises that paid off handsomely for investors. Due to a string of massive losses, Soros stepped down from active administration of the fund in the year 2000.

The quantum fund enabled considerably riskier and disputed trades against a basket of Asian currencies in the years preceding up to the Asian financial crisis, notably the currencies of Thailand and Malaysia. As a result, Southeast Asia was struck first, followed by the rest of the region, by a wave of currency devaluation and stock market falls. Thailand, which received a $16.7 billion bailout from the IMF, refers to Soros as a "economic war criminal." Despite Soros' denials, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad blamed him for the global financial catastrophe.

Open Society Foundation

With some of his wealth, Soros founded the Open Society Organizations, which comprises a network of organisations, in 1984 to encourage the global expansion of his so-called humanitarian activities. The Open Society Foundation's (OSF) aim is to "work to foster vibrant and tolerant democracies whose governments are accountable and open to the participation of all people." OSF's sometimes clandestine operations in both closed and democratic regimes, including large-scale financing of political NGOs, are based on this goal.

The Open Society Foundation (OSF) is well-known for funding politically partisan non-governmental organisations (NGOs) across the world. The OSF's beneficiary list, for example, includes a number of Israeli NGOs as well as others who doubt Israel's legitimacy. OSF has also backed Palestinian NGOs Al-Haq and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, both of which have ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which has been designated as a terrorist organisation by the United States, the European Union, Canada, and Israel.

Soros' Open Society Foundation has made significant progress in causing havoc in India by actively supporting anti-India groups operating within the country. The left-wing international organisation led by Soros has begun to spread its tentacles across the country under the guise of humanitarian efforts.

In 2013, Soros made his commercial debut in India with Aspada Investment Company, a mostly Indian investment initiative that aims to build an investment platform for firms aimed at improving people's livelihoods. Aspada is funded directly by Soros's Economic Development Fund. Aspada has a presence in India and has invested in a number of businesses, including food (Scheduler Logistics), agricultural (Waycool Food Products), and education (Aspada Education) (Shiksha Financial Services).

In 2008, the Soros Economic Development Fund (SEDF) collaborated with the Omidyar Network, the Indian School of Business (ISB), and Philanthropy Programs for Underserved Communities - Philanthropy Programs for Underserved Communities - Google. org (Philanthropy Programs for Underserved Communities - Google. org) to launch the SONG fund, a 17 million USD investment fund. Soros, along with other networks, has subsidized the media with millions of dollars in order to shape political narratives.

The Human Rights Law Network has been an outspoken opponent of India's sedition legislation, including assisting Rohingya Muslims with legal representation. Sherpa, a French NGO that filed a lawsuit against the Rafael deal, is also funded by the OSF. Another group that aids George Soros' aim is Amnesty International, which is also supported by the OSF. The Citizenship Amendment Act, according to the group, breaches both the Indian Constitution and international human rights legislation. Amnesty India has criticized the government for repealing Article 370 in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
