Not even skills necessarily. Skills can be taught and learned. I look for intangibles as well as hard skills. Education and experience alone won't guarantee success.

Talking about sexual orientation in a job interview makes no sense at all. truly an outcry of those that feel excluded. It has nothing to do with anything.

I will caveat though, it may be relevant information for some jobs. There are higher rates of emotional distress in these groups for obvious reasons. I recommend they all find Christ, heal their inner wounds and... find a way to feel good about themselves. Until then though, it creates risk. Not so sure I want a pilot to have a 50% higher chance of emotional issues while flying. May be other critical professions.

There may be roles where they are more adapt, than others. So understanding a person, their skills, gifts, behavioral fit within the org is important. Emotional health is essential for all jobs.

Sure, but that also means that people like veterans coming out of the military will struggle as an example. If you want to be pragmatic about hiring then there are a lot of categories of people that will just be screwed over that you might sympathize with. Like for example, how is someone who just graduated supposed to compete with someone who has 10 years of industry experience? How is someone who is 5 years from retirement supposed to not be a liability for a long-term position inside of a company when they can just hire someone younger?

A ruthless hiring practice will not be a pretty thing.

Yes, however due to the society we live in and the foundations of morals that made it (white supremacy, puritanism, and misogyny) we’re taught biases that continue to favor that system. DEI and other such programs work to combat this unconscious bias that we seldom recognize that we have, especially if you are a part of the group empowered by those same ancient foundational morals.

And this applies to sex. When I lived in Atlanta, I dated three different black girls. I looked a little bit like Travolta when I was young. I do not have a massive penis.
