There was recently a plane crash there.

I listened to the audio on the NY post. The female pilot is screaming and she’s saying things like
”We’re gonna crash”
“We’re gonna die.”
”We’re out of time.”

23k feet "descending" sounds like steering was blocked, I doubt down winds can be that heavy.
