Why won't he give me a picture of himself?

I have known this guy for about half a year.

We are not seriously dating but hanging out often and texting at least once a day.

He has received pics of me, sexy and "plain" ones. He has yet to send me one. His excuse is that he is just starting to work out more and wants me to have a really really nice pic of him... now, his body is already perfectly toned, six pack and all. So it's a load of BS if you ask me...Specially since I told him a "regular" picture will be just fine.

So PLEASE tell me why a guy won't give his pic to a girl he likes?

Is there some guy thing about this?

Typical answer/reaction = low self esteem or not up to the pinnacle "attractive" shape he once was. Quitting sports does that to guys.

Tell him give a head shot at the very least or

he' sending one-way signals about this future relationship.

Promise any update replacement pic will return this one to him.

I already did tell him he is smoking hot. I don't insist on a naked upper body pic or anything...

I just don't like giving out pictures. He could just say that though, if the whole workout thing is an excuse. It could be legit though, I don't know.

A lot of guys just don't like pictures - I hate cameras.

If you see him in person, why do you need a picture?

It sounds like he's insecure. Or he's doesn't trust you with his picture. Or he has a girlfriend he doesn't want you knowing about, thinking you'll show his picture to your friends or something.

That is definitely strange. Guys don't usually worry about that kind of thing. I wouldn't worry about it too much though. As long as he acts fine every other time.

By paper trail I meant that some people don't want others to have anything that can prove where they were or who they are seeing. That's why I asked if there's another female on the horizon - someone who wouldn't like it. I can't picture someone being fit and at the same time insecure about looks. Plus you said a regular photo is fine, so it makes me go hm.
