How can I get my boyfriend to stop pouting when he doesn't get his way?

It is unbelievably frustrating. He does it so often.

If I tell him something he doesn't like, he turns into a 5 year old.

The other day, I told him I would be a little late getting home because my (guy) friend needed me to drop him off at work. He immediately started pouting. Also, if he wants to do something (anything, not something in particular) and I'm too tired to at the moment (full time student and I work. He doesn't go to school or work) he starts pouting. It drives me insane! I love him so much but there's nothing I dislike more than a whiny man. When his not pouting, everything is perfect.

How can I get him to stop this? Or how can I call his attention to it without pissing him off?

call him out on it. every time he pouts say to him in a teasing playful way, "so now you're going to pout." if he takes offense say you were kidding. if you feel a situation is going to cause him to pout call it out somewhat sarcastically and playfully before he does it - "you're not going to pout on me now are you?" just make sure it's said like a joke or sarcastically so you can play it off like a joke in case he takes offense.

after you do this few times he'll know you're aware of it and he'll become self aware of it and may realize what a wuss he is and stop.

this won't solve the root problem because the root problem is he's a baby. but at least you can bring it to his attention in a way without being to confrontational.

Condition him like Pavlov's dogs. Everytime he pouts he gets no sex. That'd teach him after 3 days.

You can either play the game or let him know he's acting like a kid. If he acts like a five year old, treat him as such. But that's not the best plan. Just tell him when he's doing it. Whenever he starts pouting, just say: acting like a 5 year old isn't gonna change the situation so stop it.

If he continues to behave like a 5 year old, you're gonna start feeling like you're his mother and it will kill the attraction. He needs to understand that you need a man, not a child. Just tell him his behavior is unattractive, but do it in a tactful way.

Tell him to grow the f*** up, or get the f*** out. He sounds like he needs to grow up, or go running back to mommy so she can baby him. Guys like that are really annoying.
