Women look at other women as "parts" and compare themselves to those parts. Women are more critical of those parts and use those parts to pass judgment on other women.
Women are much more objectifying than men because they do it to both sexes. Men simply look at women lustfully because of biological programming used to mate.
Feminism is originally about social, political and economic equality for both sexes, which therefore also means neither should be objectified. 'Feminists' that do, are abusing the term. Sexualizing and/or objectifying is wrong either way.
because in every situation there is a subject and an object. you have to keep a balance between the two. so if we make demon objects sometimes we also have to make men objects. it's an okay thing to do otherwise there is a ridiculous double standard. it's okay to be an object as long as you can still be a subject. it's all about knowing that we all objectify each other and that's okay. because we can also be subjects.
Even though I think Buzzfeed is just a cesspit of misandry, you can't really deny that they're just doing what everyone else has been doing to women this whole time anyway.
Men aren't as emotional as women or that's the stereotype... In South Africa there is a trend to hashtag menaretrash... This is reported to show awareness of women abuse...
1K opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic.
because most women don´t like to be sexually objectified but most men don´t really mind xD i guess that would be the most rational explanation for this double standard.
I think you missed the point. There is no doubt it happens to women but this website that condemns the objectification of women also constantly objectifies men which is a sign of hypocrisy.
Because women like guys and sex sells. It's also in a way nice to hear women geting worked up over us. I don't think its enough of an issue (yet) to get worked up about I will wait and see what it becomes first.
@Nyx_85 Doesn't matter if that's what she meant or not. If that was said about a woman, Gloria Steinem and Gloria Allred (the Gloria's), would be clamoring for a retraction.
@Guy2345 And I hear people say/ read comments stating the same sort of thing from both genders all the time. Some people are fucked. That's just how the world is.
Try not to get so offended over what random people (especially teenagers) say online because you'll be banging your head against the wall.. Maybe go have a bubble bath or something. Or a beer. Or a beer bath. You've been going off quite a bit on here and I think you need to relax.
I think she is right... but i don't think saying ''that's just how it works'' justifies it. Women do seem to have higher egos then men on their looks... probably due to attention they get on stuff like dating sites... oh and all the family members telling them how great they look.
@Nyx_85 Regrettably, I didn't pick up on the fact that she's 16. I'll certainly pay more attention to the OP's age. Nevertheless, I haven't said anything that isn't true or inappropriate, from my perspective. This question is an important question, from a men's rights perspective, and an opportunity to state what I believe to be true. If she gets a better understanding of the world, as opposed to the Steinem/Allred version, then it's a good thing. I'll "chill" once I've voiced my piece. If you aren't comfortable with verbal conflict, arguments, or hard truths, probably shouldn't be on this site...
Yeah and perspective is entirely subjective. We all see things differently. Two people can experience the exact same thing yet form different opinions based upon how they perceived the situation.
"If she gets a better understanding of the world, as opposed to the Steinem/Allred version, then it's a good thing."
I don't think it's that she thinks it's ok for women to be that way and not men. But she's saying some women are cray cray and that's just how it is. She never stated her opinion on if it was a man and that wasn't even the topic anyway. The topic was what some girls think. Like do we seriously have to add a disclaimer to ever single subject so people don't make assumptions? Like "You said puppies are cute. So I guess you hate kitten then eh?"
I wasn't aware this site was a plethora of wisdom 😂
First, I'm not suggesting she's a raving feminist or that she's somehow suggesting that the disparity is "ok".
Nonetheless, apathy is EXACTLY what this post is about. The statement that, "It's just how the world works" is apathetic. it's also a victim statement - One that men have used and been demonized for. Why should women get to use it, without any push-back? Why do women march for women's issues, and expect men to be supportive, but protest much less frequently for men issues? Self-interest, perhaps?
If you can't see the hypocrisy then you are a hypocrite. You are one of those women who will bitch and whine about being viewed as a sex object by men while being open to discussing Tom Hardy's abs.
You aren't reading between the lines here. Context matters.
The context is men and women create sources of objectification in the media. Men are not creating movements decrying objectification. Women are.
Regardless of the attraction element, the topic being discussed is why do women create objectification then complain about being objectified themselves.
That isn't an attraction issue. It's a sexist issue towards men, literal hypocrisy. "Women being objectified is bad! Stop!" versus "Did you see the top 20 Zac Effron beach pics?"
okay look, the difference is, zach effron is a male celebrity so that's a poor example. regular woman are objectified all the time including in commercials and other things. sex sells and women are the product. But still, i do not believe its a gender thing. i think that is used to brainwash you guys and y'all are falling for it nicely but whatever. im out i stated what i stated and thats it
@deadpool1992 I don't understand... You said the opinion giver had a bullshit answer because she said men aren't objectified and then I show how men are objectified and my answer is bullshit too?
@Hai_tis_E you think male models are going to pose in the positions she posted? Ya right. Male models and actors are made to look just as sexy as female one. Women just don't have a problem with it so nothing gets done.
That picture is exatterated, but the idea is still there. Men themselves complain how little "sexual power" they have compared to us, how both men and women are obsessed with the female body. Do you really think we are not? You think we exploit and objectify male bodies just as much?
Yes girls do it just as much only it's never talked about. Why do you think 90% of men on TV have 6 pack abs? Have you ever seen a skinny male underwear model? have you ever seen any male models on anything that were skinny? no. Guys are objectify just as much but people just don't talk about it because we all feel men can't be objectified. If a guy get, s raped everyone takes it as a joke and tell him to stop being a pussy, if a girl sexually harassed a guy no one does anything about it but if it's a girl them the world on fire. Guys can't be rapied or sexually harassed because for some reason people feel all guys care about is sex and we don't care who we get it from. I known a guy who was hold at gun by while a girl sucked his dick then punched him in the face. Till this day people still nake fun of him saying they wish they were him
First, women have always objectified men... Just as long as men have justified women. This is not a new concept. It didn't start, just yesterday. It's funny how women can be made hypocrites by their own gender and no one feels overly compelled to push back... Just shrug, smirk, and goes on about your day, right. Where's the outage, now?
Freedom of the press is not a blank check to ruin people's lives like Gawker did. There's ethical reporting standards and that's why Gawker was sued/shut down.
We're scratching our heads as to why women say they hate being objectified yet will objectify a man in a heartbeat.
@Jager66 Exactly.. men don't care TOO much about the objectification... its the hypocrisy... I always make sure i don't objectify women but I honestly can't be bothered anymore It's a joke.

Aren't you the same person that keeps complaining that men don't get enough attention from women?
I use to think that "women aren't attracted to men" but not anymore. www.girlsaskguys.com/.../a33820-7-things-i-now-understand-about-women
If men wouldn't objectify women, women wouldn't objectify men, but that's never going to happen. It's our nature.
angelina?
Let's stop pretending that women only objectify men because "men" do it to women.
Women objectify other women just as much as men do.
www.livescience.com/...female-objectification.html
Women look at other women as "parts" and compare themselves to those parts. Women are more critical of those parts and use those parts to pass judgment on other women.
Women are much more objectifying than men because they do it to both sexes. Men simply look at women lustfully because of biological programming used to mate.
@LogicBomber An example of how women pretend not to objectify men:

@Wwwyzzerdd Proof that Feminism is a mental disorder.
Just stfu already I don't care. Deny it all you want.
@Harah
You shouldn't give your opinions on opinion boards, if you get offended by opinions that differ from yours.
@LogicBomber "Proof that Feminism is a mental disorder." I'm suppose to take you seriously?
Are you saying you dont like for women to be attracted to men?
No, he's asking why are women hypocritical about being objectified.
@Wwwyzzerdd Having a son... I agree with him.
Feminism is originally about social, political and economic equality for both sexes, which therefore also means neither should be objectified. 'Feminists' that do, are abusing the term. Sexualizing and/or objectifying is wrong either way.
Feminism never included any provisions for men.
because in every situation there is a subject and an object. you have to keep a balance between the two. so if we make demon objects sometimes we also have to make men objects. it's an okay thing to do otherwise there is a ridiculous double standard. it's okay to be an object as long as you can still be a subject. it's all about knowing that we all objectify each other and that's okay. because we can also be subjects.

also it´s buzzfeed they only care for clicks not for any social norms or political correctness.
in my experience, most guys tend to want to be objectified, somewhat desperately, in fact. I certainly aspire to be a sex object, anyway..
Thank goodness nothing like that ever happens to women! 😂
I think you missed the point. There is no doubt it happens to women but this website that condemns the objectification of women also constantly objectifies men which is a sign of hypocrisy.
Equal opportunity I guess?
Two wrongs don't make a right.
I don't disagree but it is what it is
I don't know how you can't agree two wrongs don't make a right? That's awful. If it was the other way around, would you change your position?
@mrsticks considering I said I don't disagree I'm not sure what exactly what response you're looking for. Bottom line, I don't care that much
Is this a troll XD
Do you know how many site do that to women? A lot more.
Plus I know a site who do much worse than this..
Not really. More websites are about men if you haven't noticed
@beautifulangel76 About women.
Read the update.
I agree. Go on to men's humor on fb and there's tons of articles about women and porn. But i don't let that bother me.
Honestly I saw no site who did that to men in my country, only one.
And as for women even in site who are for women they do objectify them so
Because women like guys and sex sells.
It's also in a way nice to hear women geting worked up over us.
I don't think its enough of an issue (yet) to get worked up about I will wait and see what it becomes first.
using buzzfeed as a source for your argument is like... using buzzfeed. For and argument.
Some girls think they are better than men or need to be more protected and have more rights. That's just the way the world works.
Now, imagine if a man said, "That's just the way the world works, baby". Would you be furious? If yes, then you're a hypocrite.
@Guy2345 I don't think that's what she meant...
@Nyx_85 Doesn't matter if that's what she meant or not. If that was said about a woman, Gloria Steinem and Gloria Allred (the Gloria's), would be clamoring for a retraction.
@Guy2345 you sound exactly like the over sensitive bitter people you detest, maybe take a look in the mirror and you'll find the hypocrite...
@Guy2345 Dude she's 16. Chill.

this happens all the time. men aren't valuable citizens in modern society. they don't care about dudes. so we can be objectified buy not women
its not a man or women thing. its an attractive thing
But you don't see men creating a movement to stop objectification. Women do, however:

what does that have to do with what i said?
The subject being addressed is how websites objectify men while decrying female objectification. Hypocrisy.
yeah its not a male female thing in all honesty
If you can't see the hypocrisy then you are a hypocrite. You are one of those women who will bitch and whine about being viewed as a sex object by men while being open to discussing Tom Hardy's abs.
how so? i said it was an attractive thing.. what the hell... people dont objectify unattractive people... are you even reading what im saying?
Are you even reading what I wrote?
Did you read what OP wrote?
i read what you wrote and i gave my input on it. i dont think its a man and woman thing i think its an attractive thing

The reality of today's world is that women are actually more powerful than men. We are slowly turning into bonobo apes. A women dominated society.
Because sex sells, for big companies like that it's all about money. They'll make articles about anything that's gonna bring them revenue
