I am old enough to remember a time when people weren't always carrying their smartphones. I got a Blackberry in around 2009. Generally, I think they have improved our lives due to the convenience they provide. For example, instead of having to go to a restaurant to pick up food, I can order it from my phone. That saves me time, allowing me to invest that time other ways. Texting is a time-saver too. I think these advantages are why people choose to spend their hard earned dollars on them. Counting Wifi, I would guess the average person spends roughly $1,000 a year on their cellphone. What do you think?
Not really, they weren't really a thing when I was a kid, when I was around 12-13 they were just making flip phones a common thing.
Back then at least I remember things and people being normal back, people weren't so obsessed with them like they are now back then they were treated more as a convenience then a requirement.

I would say it definitely makes things a lot more convenient.
I’m able to contact my parents at ease when I’m +4,000 miles away.
I can also easily transfer my money to people and pay my bills.Requesting a taxi is easy with a cellphone. As is checking for delays on the metro or bus.
Also, living in a different country…. Translation apps are life savers.
Yes, they have made our life easier than ever. If someone is saying that smartphones have ruined the current generation then they are type of people who will blame wine for their cancer. It's not the product, it's how you use the product.
For me yes. Otherwise i wouldn't have one.
If you cut out the bullshit, the social media, the bloatware apps and spyware and google, then what you end up with is a handy lean utility like it was meant to be when smartphones were originally invented. I love to keep it that way.

Smart phones are useful tools, and when used in that context, they are helpful, and enhance output lives. But when they turn into an obsession, can't out them dowmpn, and a distraction when driving, they are harmful.
They can be helpful but there are too many idiots screwing with them instead of driving. Kids spend too much time with them too.
Well if we’re talking smart phones alone then I guess they have advanced us but obviously there are some things that smartphones facilitate that have been detrimental to us
They are more corruptive than anything because of everything on it, obviously it depends how it's used tho
Yes. But have also created a different set of problems
Smart phones are a waste of money in my opinion.
Nope. They serve no function for me.
They save time and are ery convenient, but like almost anything they can be misused and often are unfortunately.
Yes, at least for me.
