I blocked someone on Instagram and they were still able to make another account and view my profile?

If you know about Instagram, you know that when you block someone, Instagram blocks all other accounts they have and blocks all future accounts they make but I’ve noticed that this isn’t really true. I’ve blocked someone and they were able to make more fake profiles to view my profile.

Instagram claims that even if they make a new account with a different email, they will still be blocked and while I noticed that this usually works, I tested it with an account that has blocked me. I went on my other account that I use the same email with and I can search their name up still, while on other accounts that I use a different email for, I can’t search them up at all. Doesn’t make sense.

Does anyone know why this feature sometimes
works and other times doesn’t?

I'm not sure about that but there's all kinds of ways you can make yourself more anonymised ie by using a VPN or using a different device.

Have to bear in mind that the internet is a public space. You're best making your profile private, limiting who you add to your follows list and what you post and if you want a semblance of privacy. Better yet, don't use any social media at all!

I would assume anything online is viewable by anyone.

I read about bots online that immediately copy pictures uploaded to any social site. TEST: take a picture you think is safe and try a google reverse image search. You may find it on strangely on Pinterest or some shit…

Lol, you can view any instagram account that isn't set to private even without an account.

Its not that obvious ever since they began login gating all the public profiles. But if you do have your account set to private isn't it as simple as not accepting his follow?

You gotta ask yourself how they identify people; Not like you need to send them your government ID, so they will just grab a laptop and make an account with that instead; Done.

Theoretically, yes, it's supposed to work like that, but it doesn't always work like that. Sometimes one or two will get through
