Anyone going anywhere for spring break?

I’d love to be somewhere rn but i dont feel i can enjoy Vegas while wearing a mask. So i’ll just stay my ass at home. Plus, im having to work anyways. Pisses me off tho because with most of the students away, work has been slow and theyre cutting our hours bad. Yesterday i had to go in at 6am just for them to send me home at 10a. I didn't even reach my lunchbreak. Very sad that i won't reach the minimum 80 hours this check and am already down to 70 due to all the cutting. Im sure theyre doing this because they know the stimulus will make up for it. Oh well, i guess cut hours is better than working OT and a 12 hour shift 🤷‍♀️

You need a little bit of a rest. You deserve it. 80 hours a week will burn you out. It sucks having your hours cut but at least you are still working.

I definitely know what to do with myself. I gate working. Working isn't something i do for pleasure. I only work so i can earn the things i want. So getting a second job is unnecessary torture. My mental health is more important. And yea i’d love to work with you but not 7 long days

My work is all hands on. Drilling holes, pulling wire, wiring the devices, digging trenches for landscape lighting, climbing ladders, going in attics and crawl spaces. It's a different job every day, sometimes a few jobs a day.

You should just buy a fly swatter and keep it with you at all times. They make one that is extendable too. If you see a bug just pull it out of your desk and kill what ever it is. Then you don't have to go looking for the spray cans

I was there once in summer 2011, the heat was terrible 😅 but it was fun. Yea most of it are tourist traps but once you know where to go to have fun and not get ripped off, its different.

Lol not a sore throat but i had a stuffy nose. MS gets 101 degrees at most during summers. So 117 was a major jump in terms of humidity but not heat. Plus it was monsoon season so it rained a lot. I mainly went to vegas to shop and had to walk in the rain with all my bags haha

Soon we get something like a monsoon climate here in Eurooe too. A weaker gulf stream gives us dry hot summers and heavy rainy winters.
Last summer we had temperatures like Vegas here

There is a coincidental event through a class I'm taking, that I hope to turn into my mini spring break. It is in a beach community not far from my home. I'll use a bit of my stimulus check to do it, just to get away.
But this place, I'll be staying in a cabin in a collection of cabins that are distant from each other. I stayed there before Memorial Day last year and it's a great place run by great people. Small and the people who stay there return all the time... So it's NOT overrun like the official spring break areas are. No need to keep my ass home. Quiet, safe, peaceful.

I’m not in college right now so to me spring break does not have a big impact but some of my zoom meetings were cancelled cause of March Break in Canada but I am going to enjoy myself, I think I will take a day off, either from reading or from writing or from visiting Facebook, or from cooking, just to get in that celebratory mood.

It's not exactly "spring break" but hopefully I'll be going away for a few days with my family next week. We've not had a chance to be just the three of us in 16 months, and I spent over half that in hospital.

I'm really looking forward to just being with my family. And I'm finally going to be back on my prosthetic leg 🥳

We did plan a small stay in Gothenburg. There is this exquisite classical hotel that I wish to try out. And it was a long time ago since I last went to the Swedish west coast. Otherwise I'm too preoccupied with my career, and international travel is off the table, Many countries have banned Swedes because our government hasn't implemented lockdowns.
