What do you think of the current cartoon filter trend on Facebook?

This is me as a cartoon. You can do it on the voila app. I kinda think its fun but I wonder if it's some kinda phishing hack?

First off, thank you for saying what the app is! I've been seeing it all over and wondering how everyone was doing that-

Okay so I just tried it... and uninstalled it. Like not even five minutes after I got it.
First off, I looked nothing like myself- which was really disappointing because I thought the cartoon filter would be fun since I'm big on anime? NO. It even lightened my skintone so I looked a shade lighter than I really am... don't ask me how that works.

And the ads? Oh my gosh. I get they have to make their money back somehow since the app is free, but the ads are very annoying.

Cute concept, and probably fun for some people, but I wasn't impressed.

Well it sounds nice but I think that can have an impact on ur real self. I mean, most people believe ur real face/pic rather than the cartoon filter due to the fact that in recent times, people fake their faces in filters. But all the same, it looks super cool👍

Honestly I don't mind it. I think it's cool, fun & a nice way to artistically express yourself.
... especially if you like doing some of the comparisons.

I tried the app after reading your question but I did not like the way they altered my photo so I deleted the app, I did not look like a Chinese girl in that photo, I looked like a different race entirely, even my eye colour became green.

I did it for my profile pic here. It’s the closest that anyone here will see my real face. It’s fun and I’m not reading too deeply into it. It’s hard to maintain any kind of privacy in modern society anyway and I don’t care to live under a rock.
